#CabinetDecision: The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs, chaired by Hon'ble Prime Minister Shri @narendramodi, has approved the opening of 85 new Kendriya Vidyalayas (KVs) across the country under the Civil/Defence sector, along with the expansion of KV Shivamogga, Karnataka! Key Highlights: ✅ Total Schools: 86 (85 new KVs + expansion of 1 KV). ✅ Budget Allocation: ₹5,872.08 crore over 8 years (2025-26 onwards). ✅ Student Capacity: 82,560 students to benefit. ✅ Job Creation: 5,388 direct permanent jobs + numerous opportunities in construction and allied sectors. ✅ Uniform Excellence: Providing quality education for children of transferable Central Government/Defence employees, floating populations, and those in remote areas. Since their inception in 1963, KVs have been the gold standard of education, known for quality teaching, innovative pedagogy, and world-class infrastructure. Now aligned with the #NEP2020, most KVs are designated as PM SHRI schools, setting benchmarks for excellence!
