@MealeyMPC Yes, the plot plays fully out, including context before and after. Yes, read them in that order!

@ProfSportPsych Ooooh sounds interesting! So, does the plot play out over the whole series? And, is there a set order to read them in? Assuming they are all related to each other that is.

If you're not reading, you're wrong. Reading what, you ask? Literally anything. Seriously, any book. Audiobooks also count. If you're not sure where to start, ask me or tell me a genre and I got you. I can't overstate how much you're missing out on life if you don't read.

@MealeyMPC For fiction you might like the Wool/Silo series (Wool, Shift, Dust) by Hugh Howey! It's hyper-realistic post-apocalyptic society that's upheld the same societal standards for generations but cracks start to appear as questions start to be asked.

@ProfSportPsych I have been really wanting to read more books that kind of challenge the way you think about society and social norms. I have The Handmaids Tale on my list and immediately even think of re-reading Fahrenheit for old times sake.

@hammer_rl @AYYJAYYRL @sebdot @ButteryHotness_ Yes, intuition is trained but retraining the type and level of intuition your players had may have been a bit ambitious given the time. The amount of difference between where your players were and where you wanted them to be was likely too big. We call that performance dissonance

bro how tf did this roster lose anything. you had an ayyjayy that was still playing at the top level. A nass that was incredibly hyped and a Joreuz that was still one of the best players in NA imo. But they had trouble even making top 4. They should have won everything.

@AYYJAYYRL @sebdot Idk if you ever watched the @ButteryHotness_ analysis on this team, but he explains it really well for not having any insider information. The coaching focus on a complicated system (near post defending esp) wasn't intuitive for very intuitive players. Hesitations killed M80

@sebdot No bad blood to Nick JC etc, because what we were doing was really great, but this was a long term system on a short term team (we knew it was a 1 season thing beforehand) If we just turned our brains off and didn't overcomplicate it we would've done much better. Nass especially

Nonfiction gets a lot of negative looks by new readers, but the ones you NEED to read here are the ones that will change your life by magnitudes. First you need to understand what it is to be human; read Sapiens. Then read A Short History of Nearly Everything to learn our world

@xocaplex Atomic Habits by @JamesClear . If you're looking to truly manipulate your brain, this book will make you a performance psychology wizard of your own brain. The best part is that it's easy to understand. The worst part is that it's really fucking hard. JC makes it as easy as ever.

If you're a fellow bookie, feel free to post your one best book recommendation and your best one-sentence summary! Fiction: Project Hail Mary by @andyweirauthor . It's a phenomenal sci-fi, read by the best narrator, about the most courageous space mission in fiction.

You just have to set the time aside to tend to that "fit" and be honest about how you feel things are going. "I feel, I notice, I want" conversations are incredibly powerful. Add "I hear" in the front to summarize what your mates are saying before speaking. Respect leads to wins.

But it's better if you can do it early, and that is for absolute certain. Teammate connections matter because this game requires trust. Culture strength matters because coaching requires humility and hard truths. Fit matters; we know that in every sport to ever exist.
