"We did not come to fear the future. We came here to shape it. 🇮🇷 🇩🇰 🇺🇸

President-elected @Maryam_Rajavi, leader of the resistance in exile, interviewed by @Corriere “A historic moment. Now the regime can only be overthrown through our struggle.” corriere.it/native/26_marz… Maryam Rajavi—president of the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI), living in exile in Paris—what are your thoughts on Mojtaba Khamenei? “The regime has become a hereditary monarchy. It is yet another theft of the sovereignty of the Republic of Iran, proving that a viper can never become a dove. Mojtaba, along with his father, has been one of the main architects of repression, the export of fundamentalism and terrorism, and the plundering of the nation’s wealth.” And what do you think of war? “Although an external war could deal heavy blows to the regime, its overthrow and real change are possible only through the people and an organized resistance. There is no need for external intervention.” What does this moment mean for Iranians? “A historic battle is being fought in Iran: on one side, the people and a widespread, organized resistance; on the other, the ruling theocracy. The Iranian people are demanding this change. The world saw proof of this in January, when the uprising erupted in hundreds of cities and the voices of the people resounded as a collective cry for freedom and democracy.” And for you? “For the Resistance, the mullahs’ regime has entered its final phase. On February 28, the NCRI announced the formation of a provisional government, based on the ten-point plan outlined for the transfer of sovereignty to the Iranian people.” What can Iranians do to overthrow the regime? “The people, and in particular the younger generation, have found the way. By joining the resistance units or supporting their activities and battles, they are bringing this struggle closer to victory. The fighters of the People’s Mojahedin Organization, taking on extremely high risks, are carrying out direct actions against the centers of repression.” Meaning? “A significant incident occurred on February 23, when 250 fighters attacked Khamenei’s headquarters. As a result of that operation, about 100 Mojahedin members were killed or arrested, while 150 returned to their bases.” Don’t you see a peaceful revolution? “The bloody tyranny in power has left no room for nonviolent struggle. We saw this again in January 2026.” Many Iranians do not trust the People’s Mojahedin because of the past. “The People’s Mojahedin Organization has paid the highest price in the struggle for democracy. One of the heaviest costs has been the vast demonization campaign orchestrated by the regime. When the regime failed to eliminate the Resistance through massacres and assassinations—killing over 100,000 members—it resorted to demonization, investing billions of dollars.” How can you prove that? “Analyses by Western researchers, academics, and former high-ranking officials indicate that the source of all the allegations points back to the mullahs. Reports from the intelligence services of several European countries specify that the main target of the regime’s intelligence activities abroad is the Mojahedin, the CNRI.” How important is religion in your vision for the country? “The fourth point of our Ten-Point Plan emphasizes the principle of separation of religion and state, as well as freedom of religion and belief. It states: ‘No to compulsory veiling, no to compulsory religion, no to compulsory government.’” Reza Pahlavi is also positioning himself for the transition. “The people did not sacrifice so many lives to go from the current regime back to the one of the past. The Shah’s son not only fails to distance himself from his father’s dictatorship, but claims its legacy.” @FratellidItalia @ecrgroup @VidalQuadras @STRUANSTEVENSON @paulocasaca1 @isjcommittee @Mohaddessin @DowlatNowrouzi @GlobalCRL @theglobalnewsit @iran_policy
