This is my annual thank you post to @Professor_Speed for making Excel part of our psych stats class 8 years ago! As I loaded multiple tabs into a data model for a pivot table this morning, I remembered how foundational your class was for my continued learning in Excel 🤓💻

Professional Advice: If you take a page to explain the metaphor you're using in an academic paper, it's bad science communication.

@lakens Effect sizes for group-by-group comparisons in regression/ANCOVA models. If the central premise of a study is: Does Group A and Group B differ? The effect size emphasized shouldn't be R2 (b/c uneven group size will impact it), authors should report Standardized Mean Differences.

What are relatively simple things that you wish researchers would report, or would report better, that you have to keep pointing out in reviews?
