@abc4utah She must hate the people that are being detained. They won’t get drinking water, showers, flushing toilets. This is blatant racism and xenophobia

@l33tg4m3r4lif3 @LDS_Dems Exactly! I have no issues with a purple haired lesbian reverently worshipping. But the second they let the deacon know she’s a lesbian then the welcoming should be over. Would do the same for a straight person that lets everybody know their perversions

@LDS_Dems @ProfessorofBS Seem to have missed his point, he has issues because lgbt crowd, or at least the visible ones, have a tendency to declare themselves and then want you to say their choice isn't a sin. For the Muslim his issue is with the ones that say they want to kill us.

For some members of the LDS Church, the most difficult commandment to follow is the one we carve onto every building: "visitors welcome" That includes Muslims in need of a temporary place to worship. That includes members of the LGBTQ community seeking to come closer to Christ

@LDS_Dems I agree, I guess my question then, is there any limit to their behaviors within the house of worship? Or do we just welcome them and let them do as they please?

@ProfessorofBS You are right? How would we know. Guess we should just welcome them all and let God sort it out

@LDS_Dems How would we know somebody is LGBTQ? Because they feel it imperative to let everybody know their identity Label. If they truly want to worship, we shouldn’t know their sexuality. Should be no problem.

@ProfessorofBS What do you think "welcome" means. To me, it starts with not assuming the worst of someone based on an identity label

@Rultpwr @Salt_n_Smoke They won’t. Partaking of the sacrament is an ordinance and ordinances are in the category of works. Sacrament is not needed if you have faith right?

“For sin will not rule over you, because you are not under the law but under grace. What then? Should we sin because we are not under the law but under grace? Absolutely not!” Romans 6:14-15 CSB Please read all of chapter 6. Do you think that because people put their faith in Christ alone that they just go sin? If so that’s a horrible portrayal of a bunch of good believers in Christ. And if someone does act that way, then they aren’t in Christ. Jesus work on the cross is finished. He didn’t pay 90% of it. He didn’t free everyone from one religion/law and place us in another.

I can’t get past the contrast between what Latter-day Saints teach and what the Bible actually presents about the knowledge of Christ before His coming. In LDS theology, God is said to have clearly preached the gospel to Adam—including detailed knowledge of Jesus Christ, His atonement, and salvation through His name and baptism. That implies that from the very beginning, people understood with great clarity that Christ would come, die, and rise again. There’s essentially no mystery. But when you turn to the New Testament, you see a very different picture. Over and over, it says that the message of Christ—especially His death—was a mystery hidden for ages: •Colossians 1:26–27 •1 Corinthians 2:7–8 •2 Corinthians 3:14–16 These passages emphasize that God’s redemptive plan in Christ was not fully revealed or understood beforehand. In fact, the Gospels show that even during Jesus’ earthly ministry, people did not understand the plan of the cross. When Peter confesses that Jesus is the Messiah (Matthew 16:13–23; Luke 9:20–22), Jesus immediately tells the disciples to tell no one. Then He begins to explain that He must suffer, be killed, and be raised on the third day. Peter responds, “This shall never happen to you.” Jesus then rebukes him strongly, saying, “Get behind me, Satan.” Why such a strong response? Because Peter was opposing the very mission Jesus came to accomplish. Scripture also suggests that the full meaning of the cross was not understood—even by spiritual powers. As Paul says in 1 Corinthians 2:8, “If they had understood it, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory.” The Gospels repeatedly show that the disciples themselves did not grasp what Jesus was saying about His death: •Luke 9:43–45 — “It was concealed from them, so that they might not perceive it.” •Luke 18:31–34 — “They understood none of these things… this saying was hidden from them.” Even after His arrest, the disciples scattered, and after His resurrection, Thomas doubted until he saw Jesus for himself (John 20:24–29). So there’s a stark difference: In the New Testament, the central elements of the gospel—Christ’s suffering, death, and resurrection—were hidden, misunderstood, and only fully revealed in time. By contrast, LDS teaching presents these same elements as clearly known and widely understood from the very beginning. That raises an important question: which picture aligns with the biblical text? Throughout Scripture, God reveals His plan progressively and at the appointed time. Even figures like Moses—described as very humble (Numbers 12:3)—did not possess full knowledge of the future work of Christ. This wasn’t because they would have rejected it, but because God, in His wisdom, chose to reveal these things gradually. LDS I urge you guys to read the gospels, I suggest Luke. With no filter, no LDS lens. Drop your assumptions and biases at the door.. Pray to the God of the Bible and allow the Holy Spirit to reveal truth to you all.

@Salt_n_Smoke @Rultpwr Jesus atoned and died for us so that we wouldn’t live forever in our sins. If we do not repent, then we will be held accountable for those sins. Repentance is “works”. Grace alone involves no work on our part. Repentance requires accountability.
