It is believed that Alphonso Davies made himself available to play in Sunday’s match against the US. Multiple sources with insight into events told @TheAthleticFC  that on Friday, the day after Canada’s loss to Mexico, [Jesse] Marsch gathered his team for a meeting before the day’s training session. Marsch informed the team that because of Davies’ injury suffered the day before, Davies would not play against the U.S. and the team would begin planning for the game without him. Multiple sources told The Athletic that after Friday’s meeting, Davies informed Marsch he felt fit enough to play and that he wanted to play. Multiple consultations between Davies and Canada’s coaching staff followed. It was determined that Davies would play against the U.S., but likely not for the full 90 minutes [@joshuakloke, @TheAthleticFC]
