Strengthening partnerships for safer motherhood in Meghalaya.
Project ADHUNA continues to support the State Health System Resource Centre (SHSRC), Meghalaya and the Regional Health & Family Welfare Training Centre (RHFWTC) in advancing efforts to improve maternal health outcomes and reduce preventable maternal deaths. As part of this collaboration, the project is supporting the rollout of Training of Trainers (ToT) on the E-MOTIVE+ approach, aimed at strengthening the early detection and management of postpartum haemorrhage (PPH) through timely, evidence-based, life-saving interventions.
The initiative focuses on capacity building through team-based training, enhanced coordination, and the introduction of critical innovations such as Calibrated Drapes, Non-Pneumatic Anti-Shock Garments (NASG), and Uterine Balloon Tamponade (UBT) to improve emergency response and save lives.
Last week, on 18th and 19th May, FOGSI’s Project ADHUNA supported the Training of Trainers (ToT) program in the Garo Hills region, under the guidance of our esteemed master trainers, Dr. Basab Mukherjee and Dr. Soma Datta. A total of 75+ participants were trained across this region, further accelerating implementation across high case-load facilities. With these 2 batched, we have successfully completed statewide Training of Trainers
FOGSI’s Project ADHUNA remains committed that no woman loses her life to preventable postpartum haemorrhage, regardless of where she lives.
