To celebrate the new year, today Humans of #CADASIL features @FannyElahi, a physician and behavioral neurologist-neuroscientist at @IcahnMountSinai. Dr. Fanny Elahi is a CADASIL expert and is leading the charge to develop treatments and eventually a cure for CADASIL. In addition to leading a research program, Fanny is available to speak with patients affected by CADASIL and their family members, and cares for many in her clinic. If you have or are at risk for CADASIL, please consider signing up to be a part of Dr. Elahi's study. If you would like to learn more or are interested in participating, email CADASIL@mssm.edu or visit The Elahi Lab at ElahiLab.com. #HumansofCADASIL

Today our Humans of #CADASIL series is featuring Barney. This is Barney and his sister, Marilyn. Barney was diagnosed with CADASIL in 2010. His doctor says he’s a bit of an outlier; as he is doing pretty well at age 72. Barney is participating in both the CADASIL Consortium and Dr. Elahi’s study. He is hopeful that treatments will be found for future generations. If you have been affected by CADASIL, whether through a personal diagnosis or that of a friend or family member, and you'd like to share your story, please reach out to us via email at projectcadasil@gmail.com.
