lots of conversation about Multiple Concurrent Proposer consensus lately. been really enjoying the takes on these from @LoganJastremski, @MaxResnick and @jarxiao, among others. largely it's misunderstood and interpreted as purely a scaling improvement. it's much more than just that. it's a fundamentally new, better way of designing a blockchain. blockchains are ledgers for trading. the faster they get, the better for traders. the core problem is that every leading L1 has a moment in each block where a single proposer is a kingmaker. one leader who controls what gets included, in what order, and when. that's the original sin of blockchain design. a single leader means MEV. it means arbitrary transaction reordering. it means censorship. the entire MEV supply chain exists because of this one flaw. retail users lose to it constantly. institutions don't like it. real institutional players need determinism. any chain with MEV or arbitrary ordering is a non-starter for tradfi, regardless of throughput. so as an L1 designer, you have two choices: lean into centralization (single sequencer, FCFS), or solve the problem at the architecture level. Multiple Concurrent Proposers solves it at the architectural level. ordering becomes a consensus property, not one leader's call. negligible MEV extraction. no censorship vector. no PBS needed. it's what @Sei_Labs has built with Sei Giga. it's also what @anza_xyz is building with Solana's Constellation. these two designs developed independently, but with very similar architecture. that's not a coincidence.

This chart is of great importance. The 2023–2024 altseason took place within a macro downtrend on $OTHERS / $BTC, which is why alts were weak overall. The upcoming Alt season should rival 2018 and 2021. Very few are prepared for what’s to come. I expect the next big downside move in this market to mark the bottom.
