A second cycle school, Dabokpa Technical Inst. in the Northern Region is doing something amazing. Building tractors, tricycles, incubators, etc. I believe they require some serious collaboration with industry. Let's encourage them. Repost this till they get the needed attention.

For Gertrude Asamoah, the BRIDGE-in Agriculture program sparked a shift in how she thinks about her business. The training gave her new clarity on her market and sparked ideas for more deliberate, strategic decisions. More focused. More confident. More future-minded. And she’s ready to put these insights into action. This is where change begins. @MastercardFdn #CrossBoundary #BRIDGEInAgriculture #AfricaSkillsHub #ASH #Entrepreneurship #ASHTrainaings

Ten young women in Osu, Greater Accra, completed the foundational stage of the Cancham Give to Gain Project, an initiative by the @CanadaGhana, implemented with #AfricaSkillsHub The initiative empowers women, creating opportunities, support, and equality that strengthen families and communities. During this stage, the women learned the essentials of running a small business and gained practical digital skills, including social media management. Next, with support from the project, each will begin an apprenticeship in her chosen trade, applying her skills to shape her future. We celebrate these women as they take charge of their lives, learning, growing, and building livelihoods that reflect their ambition and effort. #ASH #CanChamGiveToGainProject #SkillsTraining #GiveToGain #Apprenticeship #WomenInBusiness #IWD26 #Graduation

Last week, #AfricaSkillsHub hosted a team of MBA students from the Ross School of Business at the #UniversityofMichigan as part of their Multidisciplinary Action Project (MAP), a structured academic engagement in which student teams’ partner with organisations to address real-world business challenges. The students visited #Ghana to examine the country’s Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) and entrepreneurship landscape. Through discussions with our team, we explored insights from Africa Skills Hub’s work supporting entrepreneurs across communities, including enterprise development training, youth and women's enterprise initiatives, and business advisory support. The exchange focused on what it takes for small businesses to grow in practice: access to skills, market realities, partnership models, and the institutional support systems that shape opportunities for entrepreneurs. Engagements like this play an important role in bridging global academic research and local ecosystem experience. Insights shared by #ASH will inform students’ final recommendations on Ghana’s MSME and entrepreneurship landscape, helping ensure that conversations about entrepreneurship development remain grounded in field realities. We look forward to the continued exchange of ideas on strengthening MSME ecosystems across Africa. #Entrepreneurship #MSMEs #GlobalLearning #EcosystemBuilding #AfricaSkillsHub #Africa #ASH

Esther Labbah Johnson runs Cyperus Enterprise, a tigernut processing and supply business. She worked hard every day, but results didn’t always match her effort. "Most of my business decisions were based on instinct rather than data," Esther says. "There was passion, but there was also uncertainty." Then, a moment during the BRIDGE-in Agriculture training shifted everything. "Many of the discussions during the training session confirmed things I had already sensed about my business. That gave me the confidence to act. I saw clearly that with the right knowledge, I could run a profitable and structured business." For the first time, her decisions moved from instinct to strategy. Today, Esther reviews pricing with precision, organises production carefully, and plans growth deliberately. She works with five women full-time and creates additional opportunities during peak production. She also shares what she’s learned, showing others that agriculture can be a serious business opportunity. As we mark International Women's Day and reflect on #GiveToGain, Esther’s journey reminds us: when women gain practical knowledge and opportunity, the benefits rarely stop with one person; they ripple across families, communities, and other entrepreneurs. Happy International Women’s Day! @MastercardFdn #CrossBoundaryAdvisory #InternationalWomensDay #IWD2026 #GiveToGain #BRIDGEInAgriculture #AfricaSkillsHub

Sarah Aidoo started with a small rice business and one big question: How do I scale it? She mapped out a plan, worked tirelessly, and leveraged microcredit through the Post-COVID Skills Development and Productivity Enhancement Project (PSDPEP). The results were obvious. Kyidom Foods rebranded, doubled production, expanded into new markets across Ghana, and created over 8 jobs for permanent and casual workers. This success reflects Sarah’s vision and #AfricaSkillsHub’s guidance in helping women and youth-led businesses access financing that meets their business needs. The African Development Bank Group funds #PSDPEP and it's implemented through national financial institutions. When ambition meets the right support, growth becomes tangible, lasting, and transformative. At the 2026 Africa Tech Summit in Nairobi, founders, investors, and ecosystem leaders convened to advance fintech innovation across the continent. The Africa cohort of the SHIFT program, led globally by @Seedstars, actively engaged in these discussions. Five ventures from Cameroon, Kenya, Ethiopia, Tanzania, and Nigeria met with investors and ecosystem leaders to present their growth trajectories, capital needs, and solutions aimed at expanding financial access for women and underserved communities. #AfricaSkillsHub serves as the regional implementation partner for SHIFT in Africa. During the Summit, ASH collaborated with Seedstars to facilitate targeted investor introductions, support founders in refining their investment narratives, and ensure structured post Summit follow up to sustain engagement. Scaling inclusive fintech requires disciplined execution, early investor alignment, and strong ecosystem coordination. Through #SHIFT, ASH continues to strengthen these linkages across key African markets, with subsequent engagements already in progress. @iGravity @Zeeh @tranzak_fintech @Sevi @evmakco @laki_pay #iGravity #Zeeh #SHIFT2025 #FintechAfrica #AfricaTechSummit #SHIFTAfrica #Ghana #Africa #Cameroon #Kenya #Ethiopia #Tanzania #Nigeria

At Africa Skills Hub, lifelong learning is integral to our work and identity. Elizabeth Sekyi has completed her second Master’s degree in Management and Administration, achieving this milestone while continuing to lead our administrative function and ensure the organisation operates smoothly behind the scenes. Balancing advanced studies alongside these responsibilities is no small feat; it demands time, energy, and focus. For us, this milestone goes beyond personal accomplishment. It reflects a shared belief that growth does not stop once you step into leadership; it continues. Congratulations, Elizabeth. A milestone truly well earned. #AfricaSkillsHub #LifelongLearning #LeadershipInAction #SkillsDevelopment #ProfessionalGrowth #TeamASH #LearningCulture #WomenInLeadership

What happens when entrepreneurs finally see their business clearly on paper? They make better decisions. They spot the leaks. And they start building something that lasts. Over three days in Sowutuom, located in the Ga Central Municipal District, #AfricaSkillsHub engaged with entrepreneurs through an Entrepreneurship Management Training, yielding immediate outcomes. Participants mapped their monthly expenses for the first time, including costs for raw materials, transportation, and informal withdrawals. Separating household finances from business finances, they discovered how much working capital was gradually being lost. One participant, who had been making sales for years, realised she had not been making a profit. Record-keeping evolved into a powerful tool rather than a mere paperwork obligation. Tracking daily sales against actual costs revealed gaps and provided clarity. Using the Business Model Canvas, entrepreneurs defined their customers, strengthened value propositions, and stress-tested pricing. By the end, each left with a structured business model they could clearly articulate to customers and potential partners. In low-margin environments, small decisions carry enormous weight. This training gave entrepreneurs tools they could act on immediately. Early results show the impact of practical business guidance, and these entrepreneurs are just getting started. #BRIDGEInAgricultur #EntrepreneurshipDevelopment #MSMEs #BusinessSkills #SkillsDevelopment #EntrepreneurshipTraining #EnterpriseSupport #Ghana

What happens after training ends? For many program participants, the real challenge is finding employment, formalising a business, or accessing funding. Last quarter, participants and SMEs benefited from structured post-training support provided by #AfricaSkillsHub: • Unemployed trainees were connected to job opportunities through an independent job vacancy desk • Persons with Disabilities received targeted outreach, structured follow-up, and district-level coordination via a dedicated support desk • Trainees strengthened their CV writing and interview skills • 58 SMEs completed business registration • 3 SMEs opened formal business bank accounts • 15 participants received guidance to access BRIDGE-in Agriculture grants These support systems ensure that the #skills acquired during training translate into tangible #opportunities for employment and enterprise growth. Watch this video to learn how structured aftercare strengthens the outcomes of training. #AfricaSkillsHub #AftercareSupport #InclusiveGrowth #SMEDevelopment #EmploymentSupport #EnterpriseGrowth #BusinessDevelopment #Youth #Women #PWDs

Mentees spoke volumes as they told their stories of empowerment at the official launch of the Africa Segment of the Creating Opportunities for Youth and Women in Africa (COYWA) Programme. Yesterday, at the launch of the Africa Segment of the Creating Opportunities for Youth and Women in Africa (COYWA) Programme, the most powerful moments came from the entrepreneurs themselves. On the margins of the 39th African Union Summit, 5 of the top 15 outstanding young leaders from 12 countries shared their journeys, painting a vivid picture of hope and transformation. These aren’t just business plans; they are stories of impact, resilience, and community upliftment. Stories from some of the incredible minds from the COYWA Mentor-Facilitation Co-Creation Masterclass: Vuyisile Dlamini (Eswatini): Through Sheroes Investments, Vuyisile is building economic independence for rural young women. Her sustainable poultry venture, Sheroes Village Chickens, funds skills training for girls, creating multiple pathways to self-reliance, from handicrafts to detergent manufacturing. Pascaline Mwenge (DRC): A chemist and environmental expert, Pascaline is a force for change. As CEO of KANGO Holding, she excels in construction and community development while also serving as the 1st Vice President of her Provincial Youth Council, passionately advocating for youth in governance and mentoring women to scale their businesses. Dumisani Kaliati (Malawi): Dumisani is reimagining healthcare delivery with MicroMek. He builds low-cost, 3D-printed drones to deliver medicine to children and pregnant women in remote areas. His Drones4Health project is a powerful convergence of STEM education, local innovation, and life-saving impact, having already reached over 600 women and children. Chisom Joan Onwuemeka (Nigeria): Chisom turned a coconut business, Joconut Enterprise, into a movement for purpose-driven problem-solving, directly empowering over 500 young people and mentoring thousands more. These entrepreneurs are the heart of the COYWA programme. They are living proof that investing in the ingenuity of Africa’s youth and women creates a ripple effect of positive change that goes far beyond the balance sheet. Their journeys are a powerful reminder of what’s possible when potential meets opportunity. @AECID_es @SymerreGrey @daphmuzawazi #COYWA #AfricanInnovation #YouthEmpowerment #WomenInBusiness #SocialImpact #Entrepreneurship #Agenda2063 #Storytelling #Inspiration #FutureOfAfrica

COYWA: A Promise Signed into Action for Africa’s Youth and Women On the margins of the 39th @_AfricanUnion Summit, we officially launched the Creating Opportunities for Youth and Women in Africa (COYWA) Programme Africa Segment, in partnership with @AECID_es operationalising a continent-wide investment in youth entrepreneurship, skills development, and women's economic empowerment across five Regional Economic Communities and their Member States. More than just a launch; the event signaled the operational start of a continent-wide investment in the dreams and ambitions of young entrepreneurs and women-led businesses. Convened under the theme of “Education and Skills, Entrepreneurship and Employment — The 3 Es,” the event brought together Heads of State, government ministers, and partners from across sectors. This strong political and multi-stakeholder alignment underscores the shared commitment to unlocking the immense potential of Africa’s youth and women, paving the way for a more prosperous and inclusive future. Delivering the keynote remarks, our CEO H.E. @nardosbthomas described the launch as “a continental statement of intent,” emphasizing the shift from aspiration to delivery: “Africa’s transformation will be driven by your talent, your innovation, and your leadership.” Representing H.E. President Ndemupelila Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah, Honorable Selma Ashipala-Musavyi, Namibia’s @MIRT_NAMIBIA, underscored the economic and societal imperative of investing in youth and women: “When we build the skills and entrepreneurial capacity of young people, we strengthen our economies. When we ensure that women entrepreneurs have access to finance, markets, and the health services they need, we transform our societies.” With this launch, COYWA moves from promise to implementation — advancing the 3 Es and bringing Agenda 2063 closer to reality. @Enabel_Belgium @EU_Commission @SymerreGrey #YouthEmpowerment #WomenEmpowerment #AfricaRising #Agenda2063 #The3Es #AUSummit #PartnershipForGrowth.

Across Africa, youth researchers are actively documenting the realities shaping access to decent work, working within their communities to gather evidence grounded in lived experience and relevant to policy dialogue. The African Youth Panel (AYP) Foundational Training brought together youth researchers from Ghana to align on research standards, apply participatory tools, and prepare for coordinated fieldwork as part of a ten-country initiative. This video captures the practical work, shared learning, and collective responsibility that marked the beginning of the research process, highlighting youth not just as participants but as contributors to the generation of continental evidence. As Ghana’s anchor institution, #AfricaSkillsHub continues to support the programme, ensuring that youth-led research translates into credible, policy-relevant evidence. @A_YouthPanel @MastercardFdn @TrustAfrica #AfricanYouthPanel #YouthLedResearch #DecentWork #Ghana
