First of all Lenin flat out denies that inter-imperialist conflict could be nullified by the centralization of capital throughout the text, including the passage I just sent above, and he does so for a few reasons:
1) Imperialism could never assume an integral form divorced from the premises of competitive capitalism because it is itself a superstructure of competitive capitalism, and its existence hinges on the economic fragmentation that characterizes competitive capitalism (screenshot 1)
2) Imperialism does not smoothen over the uneven & anarchic competition of pre-monopoly capitalism, it deepens and rearticulates them on an expanding scale. (screenshot 2-3)
