Thanks to Chemical & Engineering News [@cenmag] for featuring our new kerosene pathway - the first 100% electrochemical process in history that makes kerosene from air and electricity. And also for highlighting why our DAC is the world’s cheapest at $50 per metric ton of CO2.
The gas chromatograph plot shows our direct electroreduction of atmospheric CO2 to kerosene-range alkanes. Kerosene is the precursor to turbine-based fuels. The biggest peak in our fuel sample is at C15, a.k.a., the “sweet spot” in fuel science for its balance of the physical, chemical, and performance properties that make the best fuel for data center power generation and aviation.
Prometheus kerosene is made from two of the cheapest, most plentiful inputs on the planet - air and electrons from the sun. It’s also 100% carbon neutral and can compete with fossil kerosene on price at any scale of production. It’s a true gamechanger.
