I find the Joint Embedding Predictive Architecture (JEPA) approach to be a promising path toward more efficient models with fewer hallucinations.
My prediction is that most labs will begin to shift toward this approach in the long run.
Standard generative models use an excessive amount of compute to predict raw data, whereas JEPA can reduce hardware costs.
This makes it a win-win situation for both companies and users.
