Here’s something I have realized of late, as a Data Analyst, obviously, your knowledge of the tools alone doesn’t cut it, how well can you apply the analytical processes to solving problems for businesses? In today’s world, the competition is becoming increasingly complex for most people at the Junior/Mid Level. AI is playing a huge role here and the noise is becoming more pronounced. How do you save yourself or launch yourself into a market with this much disruption? The reality now is you need to know much more today than you would have 5years ago to land the same role. Crazy times, indeed! If you are just starting or yet to land your first role, here are 3 things you should do today: 1. Identify what role you are interested in securing 6months - 1year from now (Operations Data Analyst, Platform Data Engineer etc) 2. Go to LinkedIn and check out at least 5 JDs for that role 3. Copy those JDs, go to your Gemini or ChatGPT and ask it to identify what is becoming common or in demand and what gaps you need to fill going by what’s in the JDs Now, instead of learning and relearning without clear direction, you have a roadmap that applies to your specific need.
