Inspiring event at the 10th annual Richmond Promise Scholar Celebration. Since 2016, @PromiseRichmond has supported over 3,700 students through higher education, including a majority who identify as first-generation college students, low income, and people of color.

The 2025 Richmond Promise Scholarship is NOW OPEN for Richmond residents! Eligible students can apply for the $1,500 annual scholarship that is renewable for up to 4-6 years (depending on a student’s path and petition).

Scholars got a chance to chat with Cynt, received signed copies of her book "You've Been Chosen", and spend some time with a proud Richmond native who has forged a long and impactful career, first at AT&T and now as the NBA's first Black female CEO.

At @UCBerkeley's recent commencement ceremony, Richmond native, Kennedy HS grad and @dallasmavs CEO @cyntmarshall left students with the message "The ball is in your hands" when it comes to the game of life that they now enter post-graduation.
