I am at Gatwick heading off towards south of France and my 34th MIPIM ! Looking to renew contacts , make sone new ones and look for more partners and collaborators to build upon our £1.5 Billion invested in UK regeneration projects I've a couple of speaking slots - on Thursday morning I will be presenting and sharing how CyanLines is taking shape I will be joined by Councillor Bev Craig of Manchester City Council, Paul Morris of Civic, Jessica Bowles of Bruntwood, Stephen Young of Salford City Council and moderator Kunle Barker of Natural Places. Together, we will share the vision of CyanLines and its aim to create a network of 100 miles of green and blue spaces across Greater Manchester. As founding partners of CyanLines, we’re looking forward to showcasing this vision on the stage at MIPIM, highlighting how Greater Manchester is leading the way in nature‑led, future‑ready development. Later on Thursday I will be closing the Main UK stand with my friend & TV star from amazing spaces etc George Clarke for a light hearted ‘A Tale of Two Northern Cities: Regeneration, Renewal and Diverging Paths’. The closing session of MIPIM 2026 on the main UK stand Using Manchester and Sunderland as case studies, the session will explore how UK cities navigate change, and why their regeneration journeys can look different. Tom will reflect on over three decades’ of transformation in Manchester as George brings insights from Sunderland, a city at the earlier stages of its renewal. Together, they will discuss what drives successful regeneration, what can hold places back and what lessons can be learned from these two northern cities. ...also agreeably agree that there needs to be a step change in approach. Technology can unlock many of the challenges we face with long term, open minded and system thinking. With planning for example, we need to convert NIMBY to YIMBY. #PropTech
