This is a clear sign from the Trump administration that they are seriously rethinking the whole war on Iran. The war has not turned out the way they had hoped—i.e., there have been no uprisings whatsoever against the regime. In fact, the US has not remotely won this war, despite Trump’s numerous claims of victory. Furthermore, there is no guarantee that the Iranians are simply going to quit now. They want to make sure that the US hegemon and its rabid Zionist attack dog do not just postpone the war again, as they did in the 12-day war. The Iranians have, in fact, made it crystal clear that they are not about to give up anytime soon, they are and will make this a very costly affair for the US and its client states. This war has already effectively destroyed the reputation of the US as the sole unipolar hegemon of the world.
