Dear all & sundry: Today is my first day as the UN Special Rapporteur on the Human Rights Situation in #Myanmar (aka Burma). To follow my work on this new adventure, please follow me at @UNSRHRMyanmar
Thank you for your support 🙏
Official Statement released by Rohingya Gen-Z.
There is a #Rohingya Gen-Z movement being held in the Refugee Camp at Cox's Bazar.

"The demand to free political prisoners in #Myanmar is urgent, necessary, & morally undeniable. But it must also be said clearly, these individuals should never have been arrested in the first place."
@SecLazaro & @ASEAN must hold junta accountable.🚨✊

After months of intimidation in Cox’s Bazar camps, Mohammad Ullah left by boat in April 2026. The vessel capsized in the Andaman Sea. He is now missing.
This was not a reckless journey. It was a failure of protection.
We are calling on all #Rohingya to take one simple but powerful action: Send a letter to the government of #Bangladesh.
This letter demands:
-Investigation into threats and intimidation inside the camps
-Protection for those who speak out

It’s important to debate the facts of Aung San Suu Kyi’s record in #Myanmar. But if you do engage in that debate, get the facts straight.
I wrote this in @MizzimaNews in response to Fergus Harlow, who made a false claim about the work of @FortifyRights: eng.mizzima.com/2026/04/16/331…
An article by a Rohingya brother, Sabit Hamid:

I really can’t believe that my Rohingya brother, Mohammad Ullah, is among the recent victims of human trafficking and one of the 250 people currently missing.
As young people grow frustrated and lose hope for repatriation, even educated individuals like Mohammed Ullah are taking this risky journey to Malaysia.
The Arakan Rohingya National Council (ARNC) has strongly condemned the appointment of former junta leader Min Aung Hlaing as president of Myanmar, calling it an attempt to entrench military rule under the guise of democracy.

Big congrats to @KelleyCurrie, the next UN Special Rapporteur on the situation of human rights in #Myanmar — a mandate she is uniquely positioned to fulfill. She will no doubt bring her longstanding commitment to truth & justice to this crucial role. We’re eager to support her.
A peaceful protest against the WFP’s new vulnerability-based monthly ration system.
To avoid unnecessary chaos, as the community has no livelihood opportunities, Rohingya refugees request that the allowance be provided as it was before.
Just 5 five years ago, the Myanmar military leader Min Aung Hlaing—a criminal responsible for the Rohingya genocide & currently wanted by the Argentinian Federal Court—staged a coup because he wanted to be president. Today, it was announced that he has been listed among a few VPs, and he will officially become the President in the coming days.
This outcome is not surprising. Over the last 5 years, he has killed thousands of innocent civilians, arrested many thousands more, and even carried out death sentence executions to achieve this goal.
