No joke like every single element of gameplay from Death Stranding that returns in 2 has had me go "oh wow that's so much better" over and over again. Stealth and combat is more of what I expect of a Kojima title as well. This is an impressively refined sequel.

Death Stranding 2 is SUCH a step up in the gameplay department from the first. Basically every aspect has been a pleasant improvement. Just feels like a way tighter, more realized experience. I can tell Kojima Productions was way more confident and in sync this time around.

Now that I think on it, Nier Replicant might be one of the only times I can recall that a flawed cult classic game got a remake and second chance to become closer to the creator's vision.
As opposed to most remakes which are derived from games that are universally adored.

Nier, and Drakengard 3, are some of the few games that come to my head where I was so constantly struck by the music in it that I'd just put my controller down and let a moment linger. It goes beyond gaming, it's just simply some of the most beautiful compositions ever.

@inceptstellar @paninidotexe Lol I had to do my first short film entirely in my apartment with my phone camera and a roommate because of COVID. Shit sucked. Terrible timing to choose a degree where learning how to handle gear and hands-on, collaborative work is essential to learning the craft.

@AntifaCostanza Still playing DS2 but I think, of all of Kojima's works, Death Stranding might arguably be the game of his that you get the LEAST from by solely watching the cutscenes on YouTube, let alone a hypothetical film.

In my head, Steel Ball Run hasn't aired and it won't air until 2027 or whenever they get their head out of their asses.
No point in watching something like Part 7 just to lose momentum with the plot and wait months before you come back and try to remember where things were at.

@saintsissi Being in film school and basically starting the actual deeper courses right when COVID and social distancing started was like two buckshots to each leg in terms of networking and drive.
