@ProtocolYT @ShyoWager Radiante is in the battle pass, hardly a prize. Cash prizing for tournaments is different than having a prize pool for a whole entire season. Also breeds collusion which is hard enough to deal with. Valorant points have monetary value, figured lottery laws etc would be an issue

I believe these changes were made to incentivize people to tryhard in ranked, and have something to play for. The reality is a lot of people have either left the game at this top 10k - 500 level, moved onto other ranked systems, or haven't had something to play for, hardstuck trolling games inside the 0-400rr bracket.
This change does 2 things.
1: Gives people who still play this game something attainable to reach for. I understand you are lowering the threshold overall which means less skilled players get into Radiant, but allow me to introduce this next point!
2: Changes the narrative inside Radiant. We can understand what low RR Radiant and high RR radiant mean, and will develop a new culture around it, much like how it is in League with Challenger 0lp vs 500lp vs 1K lp. Nothing is being taken away from you if you're good at this game and already at that level. Now is your "tag" of Radiant allowing a lesser skill bracket into the fray? Is that being tarnished a slight bit? Yes. Will that make more people play the game so its worth it just for you to lose a little bit of that default prestige, with now the new added context of you're a high RR Radiant so you still get to keep almost the entirety of what defines the rank? YEAH! its a WIN WIN.
3: GUYS its STILL THE TOP 500! This just adds more people into the queues, gives them the incentive to play, and before you know it this threshold might even thoom back up to the 400s and 500s with how many people make the cut (by default it'll already be over 500 within a few days)
This is healthy for the game. We can contextualize if people's Radiant tag is "fradulent" or not (if you honestly even care at this point).
It just gives the people another reason to queue at the most dedicated of ranks, which is a GOOD THING!

Additional cosmetics is at least something more than your 8th radiant buddy.

Adding Valorant point and cash prizing just makes your game a global legal nightmare, it's unrealistic to expect something like that

@ProtocolYT @ShyoWager What game has high value incentives for those who reach the highest rank on the ranked ladder? Is there actually a game out there that makes something so great every season that people are dying to get to the top rank?

@ShyoWager The lack of incentive to hit radiant more than once is why high elo is plagued with people not trying and/or playing on alt accounts. This leads to an awful ranked experience since nobody cares. Now today you can't even get 500 people to grind enough RR to get top 500

@ShyoWager The actual fix was to give a real incentive to players who have already hit radiant to want to hit it again. Been said for literal years at this point. Feels like a slap in the face to just make it easier to obtain instead.

New Valorant patch looks awful
-Nerfed cloves utility not healing or ult, will still get spam picked but will provide even less to the team
-Yoru needed to be nerfed but they completely killed him, unplayable

@WonderChefCooks Yeah for just questing that doesn't require exfil solo works well enough. I really think that mode would benefit from solo only balance changes to health and TTK as well as USEC spawns.
I do understand though that bungie doesn't want to make solos more profitable than normal play

@ProtocolYT Having the same experience, that solo mode is better than filling randoms for me, but neither feels good at all to me.
