The PIDB visited Archives II in College Park today. We met with members of the National Declassification Center and digitization teams, who are doing an incredible job. We also visited the classified archives. Stay tuned for additional updates on this visit.

Thanks to President @realDonaldTrump’s unprecedented commitment to government transparency, the Department of State Historian was able to publish multiple volumes on U.S. Foreign Relations that were previously blocked in declassification reviews. Additionally, acknowledgments of seven historical covert actions were approved after nearly a decade of bureaucratic delay. One of the best ways to hold rogue bureaucrats accountable is through the understanding that their actions will be judged by the public in their lifetime. Great work @HistoryAtState! static.history.state.gov/reports/report…

In 2025, the Office of the Historian published three new volumes in the congressionally mandated Foreign Relations of the United States (#FRUS) series, adding to its catalogue of more than 550 publications. The 2025 Report to Congress highlights several modernization efforts by the Office of the Historian to improve efficiency and promote transparency.
