watching 60% of your users disappear at the google auth screen is humbling 1 minute in, ask for permissions. they're gone. poof. you spend months building features, polishing UI, perfecting flows. then a single oauth asking for access undoes it all looking into sessions and user interviews to figure out the fix: • do we need clearer privacy explanations? • are we asking for too many permissions? • should they see value before we ask for access? we are testing out versions with all 3 to see which converts better. onboarding makes/breaks the product.
