@Section344Lions I’d like Kennedy retuning kicks and being WR5. There’s a nostalgic part of that given how many years he’s been on the PS

I always hear people say how nice Canadians are, well, take one look through this app and it’s clear that they are in fact, some of the worst people you’ve ever encountered.

@sarobertson_ 🇨🇦 here. My father in law wasn't feeling well, seen doctor, some blood test later he is diagnosed with cancer. Within 2 weeks he was already getting treatment, and the forward prognosis is very good. All without going bankrupt or needing to cook meth to fund his medical bills.

Took me a good solid 3 mins just to login to Ticketmaster/Detroit Lions so I can claim my LLM training camp tickets. Only to wait in queue with 800+ people in front of me. @Lions you really need to demand more from 3rd party tech vendors for things like this.

@Reil76 OPERATING profit is not NET profit Servicing debt draws down NET profit Buying new assets (ie: snow removal equipment) takes a hit on your NET profit as your ammortize that asset over several years. interest for debt, and # of new assets will be big in first 5 years.

This is the last time I discuss this, since people still don’t seem to get it. People keep acting like the Gordie Howe Bridge can’t make a profit until every dollar of the construction cost is paid back. That’s not how businesses work. If a company borrows $6 billion to build a factory, and that factory brings in $100 million a month while costs are only $40 million, the business made a $60 million operating profit that month. The loan still exists, but the business is profitable. The outstanding debt and the monthly profit are two different things. The same principle applies to a toll bridge. Tolls come in, operating costs are paid, and whatever is left is operating profit. The fact that the original construction loan hasn’t been fully repaid doesn’t mean the bridge isn’t generating profit. Debt is a balance sheet item. Profit is an income statement item. Confusing the two leads to bad arguments.

If the Rams don’t win a Super Bowl this year (a year after the Packers were guaranteed the Super Bowl after the Parsons trade and barely went over .500) … Can we revisit the All-In Trade conversation? At least a little bit?

@Reil76 Can't wait for City of Windsor to announce major sewer and road work at the intersection of Huron Church and College for next summer. Leaving Ambassador bridge only open from Wyandotte will kill any hope Moroun ever had.

People keep saying the new bridge deal is “the same deal because Canada still gets 50%.” No, it isn’t. Under the original agreement, Canada paid to build the bridge and kept the toll profits until it recovered its investment. Only after that were profits shared. Now Canada still pays the bill, but has to split the profits much sooner. Same cost. Less return. Calling that “the same deal” is like paying for a house and handing half the rent to your neighbour before you’ve even paid off the mortgage.

@Reil76 What you described isn't quite it either. It's the "net" profit that is split. That is after you service the debt (pay the interest on it). What's left over, especially in the initial 5 years may actually be a net loss instead of a net profit. The deal is PR for Trump.

Not sure where the confusion still is with this fanbase, however, it’s quite simple really. If Tarik wanted to be a Detroit Tiger, he could be. Has he made it ABUNDANTLY clear that he wants to sign in Detroit long term? No. Has he demanded a deal get done through the most robust and hard-nosed agent in the #MLB? Also no. He’s chasing the bag, not the Old English D, come on guys. #DNMW

@jkenney The first 15yr isn’t used to pay off the loan. All this does is delay the loan and interest payments the US will need to give up when Canada starts paying it off…. In 15 years from now. This is the USA doing a shitty deal by delaying interest payments.

@Gray_Mackenzie When Trump leaves office they will kill this 15 year delay thing right away. Why would they want to delay paying off the 6.4B interest accumulating loan? The extra interest will require more years of Canada getting all the tolls.

Here are some of the details on what Canada had to give up to open the Gordie Howe Bridge, as per a Canadian government source. For the first 15 years, Canada gets 50% of toll profits and the other 50% goes into a regional "economic development fund." What that fund does and who runs, is not clear Under the previous agreement, Canada was to receive 100% of toll profit until they were made whole on the $6.4B they spent to build the bridge, which Michigan/the US contributed $0. The agreement also says it could be 50+ years before Canada was whole, that timeline is now longer. The Americans will have to agree if Canada wants to increase the bridge tolls by more than 10%, or lower them below compared regional averages. That clause helps out the owners of the Ambassador Bridge, the Maroun family, who have donated to the Trump administration and previously to US ambassador to Canada Pete Hoekstra, to try and stop the new bridge from opening #cdnpoli
