Dear Bengaluru, Come February, Namma Metro fares are set to increase 5% again. This is a daylight robbery being committed by the Congress @Siddaramaiah Govt on commuters. The 2025 fare hike, which raised the maximum prices from Rs 60 to Rs 90, is already unfair & unjustified. This is a result of BMRCL using a wrong methodology to calculate its operation and maintenance cost. I have raised this issue through multiple letters to the BMRCL MD and have also personally met officials regarding these anomalies. Yet, commuters are continuing to be overcharged for their metro travel. While Bengaluru metro ticket prices are already the highest in the country, this further fare revision is going to pinch the pockets of common citizens even more. The fare hike is absolutely unacceptable & @OfficialBMRCL must put it on hold immediately. First, rationalise the fares & make the Metro commute affordable.
