Wes Streeting resigns, and effectively invites a timetable that would allow Andy Burnham to stand too. Says the contest needs to be about "ideas" and "broad".

@DaleJohnsonBBC Boro Home leg could be given as a 3-0 win to Middlesbrough
English

Southampton reaching the play-off final is a new twist to Spygate.
The independent disciplinary commission has all powers open to it - from issuing a fine, to a points deduction to ... removing Southampton from the play-offs.
Boro best keep training.

@tristan_ja28476 @DaveKent101 Areas outside Manchester proper are much more Reform.
English

@DaveKent101 “Reform would take Manchester Mayor” - Reform won less than half the councillors the greens did and we all know what happened in G&D

English

Burnham’s supporters are delusional. There is not a safe Labour seat in the country at this time.
Nothing would be more hilarious if Burnham was to stand down and Reform then won the Manchester mayor role.
Even funnier would be if he then campaigned on a ‘safe Labour seat’ and lost to Reform.
The law of unintended consequences.🤣

@hdjxudnrbsid @swfccom_ @boxingkingmedia Wardley was still firing back so not appropriate for ref to stop. On corner and doctor this one
English

🚨 Statement from Fabio Wardley’s CO/trainer Ben Davison following the Daniel Dubois fight.
He admits the fight “could have been stopped earlier” but says Fabio was still responsive, firing back and recovering between rounds.
Also praised referee Howard Foster for handling a brutal heavyweight war “bang on in his terms.” 🥊

@Internethunts @PolitlcsUK He hasn't let go of the knife in the clip, so he needs to be neutralised as a threat prior to release of the knife. It is not a ruled MMA or Queensberry when disabling an active threat in the field.
English

@PolitlcsUK they were struggling because instead of restraining him they were too busy stomping his head in

@RollingHedge Is this not just a 4.2% yield on the gilt now or am I missing something.
Are you saying the BoE bought the 2061 gilt originally at it's 2061 value ? Although I thought the BoE issued gilts, not bought them. Explain like I am 5 :)
English

The Bank of England just sold a 2061 gilt at £23.41.
It bought it at £100.
A 67% loss, indemnified by you.
This is the receipt arriving in the post.
From the automation revolution, Britain’s demand-side collapse has already begun, the cognitive middle is the collateral, and the £9.18 trillion of housing wealth on household balance sheets is about to discover what it actually is.
The BoE knows. The Treasury knows. No party will say it out loud.
The coming recession is merely foreplay.

@SargetheSaint 6 goal difference and WBA have more goals scored so call it 6.5
If WBA lose it obviously moves to 4.5 and Millwall will be another goal which means Oxford need to beat Wednesday by at least 2 or 3 clear goals to create any sort of jeopardy
English

So if Oxford somehow win their last two games by a 3/4-0 margin and WBA lose both of their remaining games this COULD relegate them.
What annoys me is that this gets actioned instantly yet Man City can carry on winning trophies, spending extortionate money and nothing changes.
John Percy@JPercyTelegraph
Breaking: #wba are to receive a 2-point deduction for a breach of the EFL's P & S rules. Will leave the club 6 points above the bottom three with 2 games left to play. Fortunately the brilliant job by James Morrison (9 games unbeaten) has proved significant. Albion could appeal
English

@davidicke Actually that's not true with diesel any more with the prices around £1.90.

@aviehrent @scaling_shields Because it’s happening in the bloke’s head.

met a guy in dublin who makes €480,000 a year standing outside nightclubs making people wait
hes not a bouncer
doesnt own any of them
works for 8 different clubs across the city
each one pays him €5,000 a month
his entire job is deciding how slowly the line moves
asked him why the clubs pay someone just to slow down their own customers
"they used to rush people in. then they worked out a fast line is the same as no line. a slow line of 40 people is the best ad the club can run. every person walking past sees it, assumes its worth waiting for, tells their friends"
"so what are you optimising"
"the queue should sit at around 12% of interior capacity. 40 ish people. sustained. visible from two streets away. thats the sweet spot"
"what if the inside is actually dead"
he shrugged
"i let 2 in. hold 8 outside for 10 minutes. the 8 are the advertising. doesnt matter if the inside is empty. the street doesnt know"
"do the people in the line ever figure it out"
"the smart ones realise the line doesnt move because its not supposed to move. they leave. the rest stay because theyve already waited 20 minutes and dont want to waste it"
"sunk cost"
"i just manage the sunk cost"
the numbers:
- 8 venues
- €5,000 per month each
- €480,000 a year
- 4 nights a week, 9pm to 2am
- one clipboard
- zero marketing budget
he finished his pint and said the thing i think about every time i see a queue now
"the people in the line arent waiting to get in. they are the ad. the clubs just pay me to keep it the right length"
the queue isnt waiting for something worth it
it IS the worth it
human billboard
he just keeps it lit

@wintonARK What is this bullshit ? What is "writing" supposed to be in this graph ?
Because AI for sure does not write more text messages than humans and if you mean high value stuff like books then AI isn't writing that either
