New study suggests that employing a period of heavy load training prior to a "hypertrophy phase" can enhance muscle development. Certainly more research needed, but provides an interesting framework for periodized programming to optimize hypertrophy tandfonline.com/doi/abs/10.108…

An inverse relationship between creatine intake and depression. If you’re not currently taking creatine, you may want to start🧠. No food comes close to the benefits of creatine. None.

With the threat of curfews and even a second lockdown hanging over us, please watch this excellent video if you haven't already. I guarantee it will be an eye opener on Covid-19. Watch it and then send it to everyone you know - including your MP!

If you watch one thing today, please watch this video by ⁦@FatEmperor⁩ which Oxford Uni Professor of Evidence Based Medicine ⁦@carlheneghan⁩ recommends. Extraordinarily good explanation of what's really going on with the pandemic. Share widely! youtube.com/watch?v=8UvFhI…

Throwback to training for my last show. In the zone and aiming for momentary muscular failure. Results don’t come easy or for free. 100% attention to sensible training, eating and rest will help to achieve positive changes.

Sarcopenia is defined as the loss of skeletal muscle mass and strength as a result of ageing. Good nutritional practices and reasonable exercise, including strength training, can help reverse it. Dad has the condition on me! Lifetime exercisers. The proof is in the pudding!
