This is incredibly misleading. Has been since day 1. Votes are not "real transactions". Vote transactions have their own dedicated threads in Solana's TPU, they do not compete for the processing capacity with other transactions. The only difference between vote transactions and traditional votes is that they are appended to ledger rather than aggregated into certificates. If Ethereum's votes were counted as transactions, its "network performance" would have hovered around 3k TPS for years, at this point.
