🆘🆘 ACADIA (ID 250750), 2 YO, MALE – IN MANHATTAN ACC - came into the shelter as a stray on 3/28/2026. 🆘🆘 😿 😿 😿 😿 ➡️TBD 4/18/26 ➡️ 🆘🆘 1ST Chance on Emergency Placement List – VERY URGENT – 🆘🆘 😱🔥🔥😱 ➡️ 20 DAYS IN SHELTER – TOO LONG – TIME IS RUNNING OUT ➡️ ACADIA IS ON THE EPL FOR BEHAVIORAL REASONS - He is not thriving in the care center and continues to display distance-increasing behavior when approached for interactions. He has not warmed up despite staff using treats to build a positive association. This designation often means that the cat will be given very little time for rescue/foster/adoption.🔥🔥🔥🔥 What my friends at ACC say about me: I'm an independent kitty who likes to do my own thing. I can be slow to adjust to new environments. I prefer to take things at my own pace. I am looking for a home with a patient person. Acadia tolerates attention and petting but appears fearful or stressed in the shelter. I am a mother, and I am writing this with a shattered heart. My little son was bitten by a rat. Since that moment, I have not known peace. I watch him cry in pain, trembling in fear, and I feel completely helpless because I cannot give him the treatment he needs. No mother should ever have to look into her child’s eyes and see suffering she cannot stop. My heart is breaking every second. Please don’t pass by our pain.
