The hankering for these types of games comes from the casual setting in it. Competitive yes but sweaty? Not really. You a 30 year old could pick this up with your 12 year old cousin and be jamming together. Accessibility without restrictions. No rank matching just fun.

The adoption of a large player base in a live service shooter is part of the product’s quality. If it fails to build a strong base due to a lack of mass appeal, then the promise of a genuinely new and engaging multiplayer experience is greatly diminished.
More players drive the experience through evolving metas, community culture, and feedback. A game may be mechanically solid, but if the player count is low, the “live service” aspect loses much of its value.
Companies don’t invest billions into a product for a niche audience. They aim for mass appeal because a thriving player base is essential to sustaining the experience.

marathon gets great reviews and people are acting like it's a disaster because not everyone is playing it. quality and mass appeal are just different things, but in 2026 apparently that's a hard concept

The return of functional fitness. Farmers never have to work out, cause the function of running a farm was the fitness. We spend hours comfortable spaces so much that gyms are necessary, but you lose real world usability due to targeted muscle groups. This is much better.

This might get me a lot of hate, but I genuinely think that the Daily Wire didn’t start out hating Catholics. It would be a stupid business plan to hire so many talented Catholics only for things to fall apart so quickly. Controlled opposition? I don’t think so, especially with how democratized new media is.
I think two things happened. First, the Daily Wire bought into that approach themselves, thinking the “big tent” idea was the way forward. Second, everyone became more extreme, including Ben Shapiro. Otherwise, this messy disbanding and downfall wouldn’t make sense. This doesn’t look like the operation of a well-controlled opposition, but rather an organic movement of political camps being drawn apart.
So this smearing campaigns are the last of the flailing they can do before the dust settles.
