We’ve had a few new Potatoes join us lately, so it’s intro time! Hey, I’m Ruby! Been a gamer since way back—started with a Commodore 64, and that “gamer phase” never ended. I’m an achievement huntress, mostly on PC and PlayStation. Used to write and record achievement guides, do OG RE speedruns, and challenge runs (like SL1 in Dark Souls). A couple of years ago, I had an accident that led to a brain injury, so my hand-eye coordination is kinda shot now. But hey, I still love gaming, so who cares? Now, instead of a pro gamer, I’m the Mommy to my Potato Squad (that’s you guys!). I’m Ace (specifically Aegosexual) and panromantic. You probably followed me after seeing a pic and already have me labeled—fair enough, considering the “link in bio.” But hey, a good gamer never judges a book by its cover. That’s how you find the hidden loot! 😉

@a_maineiac Yup quite some but I am an achievement huntress so once I play one, I move to the next.

Btw, this was recorded with Steam’s built-in recorder. It’s handy when you don’t want to launch OBS or anything extra, but honestly that stuttering wouldn’t have happened on OBS since it didn’t occur in the game.

@Dustellar technically you can "build a badge" but it's seasonal and it often skips. For example now they have skipped Spring and they'll probably go directly to Summer

What am I supposed to do with my Steam Points now? ^^ I’ve maxed out all the showcases and everything else… now what? It would be really nice if they let you turn them into discounts or, God forbid, store credit.

@SponsordWarlock you can use them to "upgrade" your profile, buy emojis and game themed stuff. I don't use Steam much for chatting tho so the whole emoji section is pretty pointless for me

I can't confirm or deny if that's what actually ends up happening to players two. Btw, I've never once said "God, you're so big" in my entire life, that would cringe me out so hard xD Is it actually sexy to hear for you guys? About this... I'm an achievement huntress myself, so I kind of understand where they're coming from, even if I don't fully agree. The thing with Steam achievements is that anyone can unlock them with a simple .exe file, which means your legitimately hard-earned ones end up looking identical to someone who just cheated their way through. Sure, someone could turn on assist mode and breeze through easier than you did, but if you didn't use it? Then you know you earned it the hard way. And at the end of the day, that's what really matters. The reply could've used a tiiiiiny bit more tact, but I am an unfiltered person as well, I can understand it. Also, this post made me find what it feels like a love letter to the old DKC games so pardon me while I add it to my wishlist!

This review knocked us out of Overwhelmingly Positive but I don't care because I'll die on this hill no matter how much time passes. Side note: They didn't get all the achievements
