You can only really be happy if the vast majority are happy.

@afneil And, Andrew, please don't start saying that private companies are more efficient than public. They are NOT, in fact, they ARE worse, wasteful, disrespectful and riddled with inefficiency, not to mention the GREED.

@afneil The cost? Roughly the same tens of billions that those very same energy companies and especially water firms have been siphoning from taxpayers and bill-payers for decades. The difference is that re-nationalising might finally stop the leak rather than just increase the pressure.

OK — you tell me — how do you nationalise energy, water and ‘housing’ (whatever that means) without borrowing tens of billions more to do so?
The Red Resistance (Keith Davies)@resistance_red

@afneil Are you happy with ANYONE trying to do something different Andrew. He has been a big success in Manchester. Maybe he knows something. You've derided any new ideas as the status quo fails catastrophically. Do you want the far right spivs with their huge medical bills policies?

@LeftieStats Reform are the majority and should be allowed to govern Worcestershire Council, well in advance of the next General Election. This should be enough time for Reform to show their abilities and test the patience and content of the Reform vote.

@annettedittert @NickCohen4 Too many of the electorate and everybody else in the UK have/are losing the ability to see the whole big picture. This is mainly being fuelled by Social Media and the reluctance to follow/learn of current affairs (ie constant streaming of fictional content).

🚨 A message to ALL politicians: Grow up. Here’s what people actually want: ✅ To not be taxed to death ✅ Safe streets and safe communities ✅ Access to healthcare when needed ✅ A good education for our children ✅ Affordable housing ✅ The ability to retire with dignity ✅ A safety net if we fall on hard times ✅ The chance to build a better life through hard work People do not care about your endless ideological debates, petty point scoring and political theatre. They just want a country that works for the citizens of it. If you want our votes… …just do your jobs properly and deliver for the country. Sincerely, Every sane British Citizen.

@EmmaLewell @We_OwnIt bbc.co.uk/programmes/m00… This programme illustrates the Tories thirst for selling off most of the UKs most valuable assets for Tory votes/favour with utter contempt for the consequences to the UK and its occupants. Truly disgraceful conduct. Radio4: Learning at its best.

@SkyNews @cathynewman No Government can repair all that has been damaged by the Tories all at once. It is impossible OR too expensive to achieve quickly. Social Media has increased the impatience of the electorate massively. You cannot turn these problems around overnight. It is impossible.

@BBCPolitics When is @Keir_Starmer going to realise that urgently decoupling the UK electricity price from gas and adjusting to the cost of the full generation mix, will start to benefit Everyone & Everything, Everywhere and all at once. With one exception: The boats!

@Parody_PM Never have so many put faith in a party of so few with little experience of governing, at council or national level. Reform has mastered the cry of protest; it has yet to master the burden of responsibility.

Reform UK councillors already gone: Stuart Prior called white people “the master race” Glenn Gibbins said Nigerians should be melted down to fill potholes Jay Cooper called the holocaust a hoax Daniel Devaney said Muslims are "pure scum" All of these have either resigned, been suspended or are under investigation. So our first act in local government is to waste council taxpayers money by triggering by-elections to replace these morons. We are starting as we mean to go on.

It would be entirely fitting of this failing, dithering, ineffectual, indecisive Labour Party if nobody grows a pair to challenge Starmer… and he stumbles on until they all lose their seats anyway.

@SkyNews The Digital Services Tax is necessary until the big tech giants pay the correct amount of tax to the UK, or any other country, that is more directly proportional to the revenue and/or profit raised in the UK/other. Paying all tax in US or other haven is no longer fair globally.

@Ed_Miliband The first thing that should have happened ages ago was to decouple our energy prices from gas only. That measure alone would improve the finances of the country in every sector immediately. <Arnie>Do it Now!</Arnie>

We’re facing the second fossil fuel shock in less than 5 years. Events far away are once again impacting families and businesses here at home. We can’t go on leaving our country so exposed. The solution lies in clean homegrown power we control. bbc.co.uk/news/articles/…

@bbcquestiontime That is why they have to increase taxes and make far too painful decision on how to prioritise spending. Near everything in the UK is broken and needs repairing. This will cost us dearly and yet voters still want to vote Tory/Reform.

@bbcquestiontime I'm sick & tired of people complaining about Labour who are doing their best to repair the UK. The UK HAS been SERIOUSLY damaged from all the previous Tory tax cuts which were paid for by eroding it's infrastructure to a dangerous level which will be very expensive to repair...

@PeterStefanovi2 Yes & No: YES, because Starmer/ exec committee saw him as a future leader threat more than the perfect candidate for the constituency. NO, because Burnham is too important for Manchester as a whole which covers a lot more constituencies. If it's not broke, why break it.

@franceshinde The sooner Labour let Reform do some governing of local councils the better and well before the next GE. It will give Reform enough time to show their true intent and/or whether their rhetoric is genuine and/or whether their voters will be happy with their performance/policies.
