Springfield took a one-time $15.6 billion federal COVID bailout and used it to permanently bloat the state bureaucracy.
Spending on "human services" alone jumped 64% in just three years, padding the payroll with 5,500 new state employees. Now the pandemic is over, the federal funds are gone, and Illinois taxpayers are on the hook for a projected $21 billion deficit.
It’s not a revenue problem.
It is quite literally a spending problem.

Meet Stanley Woodward. He’s the new Trump appointed nominee for Associate Attorney General at the DOJ.
He’s awaiting his confirmation in front of the Senate.
Stanley Woodward and his wife Kristin McGough are both progressive Democrats. His wife sued Donald Trump in 2020, and they are both massive supporters of Black Lives Matter.
Every single MAGA voter needs to call their GOP Senators and tell them to not vote to confirm Stanley Woodward.
Associate Attorney General is the 3rd most powerful role at the DOJ.
I’m willing to bet anything Trump’s staff didn’t show @POTUS any of the oppo I dug up about Woodward and his wife.
Some of his staff constantly gaslight him and hide important information from him and then pretend they don’t when they get called out for it.

The contrast is impossible to ignore.
Illinois Democrats, running a one-party state, found sudden empathy for two tragic deaths in Minnesota. And yes, they are tragic. But they’re also complicated, not the simple narrative being pushed.
What’s worse is how quickly that narrative was used to interfere with federal law enforcement.
This isn’t compassion. It’s political opportunity.
I know real loss. I buried my 20-year-old daughter, Katie Abraham, after a preventable killing tied to the very policies these same politicians defend.
Fourteen months later, @GovPritzker, @SenatorDurbin, and @SenDuckworth have never said her name. Not once.
They denigrate ICE as “secret police” and “thugs,” inflaming distrust that won’t stop with one agency. We saw where this leads in 2020, and it’s already starting again.
And now, after the tragic death of Sheridan Gorman, we’re told ICE and Trump didn’t do enough.
You can’t have it both ways.
You can’t vilify law enforcement, demand they stand down, and then blame them when something goes wrong.
That’s not leadership. That’s politics.

Indiana was paying them the highest per-patient rates in the country—about $340K on average.
Now the state is banning them from Medicaid.
FSSA says they “abused taxpayers.” The company says there was basically no oversight.
Meanwhile, millions in billing and luxury homes in Florida and on the Tippecanoe.
Now providers have until April 3 to self-report or face federal scrutiny.

He has an immigration detainer hold and, at the time of his arrest, was also charged with False Government Identification.

.@GovPritzker discovered a way to raise taxes on Illinoisans without requiring state lawmakers to take a public vote.
And Springfield looks like it's about to use it on your daily commute.
Allow us to explain:
Normally, if a governor wants more of your money, they have to propose a tax hike, debate it in the legislature, and face the voters.
(It’s called accountability.)
But Pritzker found a loophole: The Automatic Inflation Tax.
Years ago, he signed a law tying the state gas tax directly to inflation. That means when inflation spikes and your budget is stretched to the breaking point, your taxes automatically go up.
The result?
The four biggest tax hike years in Illinois history have all happened under this one administration.
In practice, it's taxation on autopilot.
Now, they are taking this exact same playbook and aiming it at the Illinois toll roads.
If they succeed, your toll bills will automatically increase every time inflation ticks up. And they are relying on you being too distracted to notice the automatic deductions draining your bank account.
But!
There is a window to stop it. The toll board hasn't finalized this yet.

Here is Sheridan Gorman, a bright-eyed 18-year-old freshman at Loyola University Chicago. She joyfully joked in a video about finally getting along with her dorm roommate and excitedly shared that she had just been assigned a single room as she stepped into this thrilling new chapter of her life.
She had moved to Chicago full of hope and dreams. Experiencing college life, forging friendships, diving into her education, and embracing young adulthood. Her smile lit up every room. Friends and family remember her as endlessly positive, with contagious laughter and a heart of pure gold.
Then, in an instant, that beautiful life was violently stolen. She was shot by an illegal alien from Venezuela who had no right to be here. A man who should never have walked Chicago's streets while American families mourned. All because Democrats prioritize illegal foreign aliens before safety of American citizens.
