Indiana Sen. Rod Bray was on CNN just now. “If you had a do over on indana’s redistricting vote, would you do it the same way? “Indiana’s gonna do things the way Indiana needs to do them. We’re not gonna base that decision on other states.” “So no regrets?” “No, no regrets.”

The trend continues: nonprofits take in millions of taxpayer dollars, then route it to questionable businesses under the label of “research.” This one might be the weirdest yet. I checked out the 2023 ninetwelve institute 990. There is a "research grant" for $102k to a place called " DIAMOND K SWEETS & MORE LLC". According to google it is a "Gift and specialty shop" in Spencer, IN". Why is it weird? 2 reasons. First reason. One of the governing people. State Senate Candidate and current Governmental Affairs Director for the LG's Office Kristi Risk is one of the governing people. 2 reason. The business names on INBIZ matches up perfectly, but the principal address doesn't. I verified 3 ways that the INBIZ information does go to Senate Candidate Kristi Risk. The questions are. Is it true that this is the business? If so, did her now dissolved business receive $102k in research grant money from ninetwelvie If so.....why? projects.propublica.org/.../2024031993…

x.com/Indy_reporter_… What started as a questionable use of “research” grants with NINETWELVE is now turning into a much deeper rabbit hole involving State Senate candidate Kristi Risk. Court records show Owen County State Bank loaned Risk and her business partners over $500,000 across multiple loans tied to Diamond K. Sweets & More. Those loans went into default and now it’s worse: A judge has already granted default judgment, meaning the defendants didn’t successfully contest the case and the bank’s claims are treated as true. What's even more INTERESTING, that Kristi Risk gave herself a $50k loan 2 months before she received the lawsuit when she ran for Congress in 2024. I'll look into it more of what happened, but it's been a FASCINATING journey so far.

I received a message this morning that stopped me in my tracks. A hardworking Hoosier. A teacher. Fifteen years invested in shaping young lives. A master’s degree. A second job just to make ends meet. And yet, after a 20% property tax increase, they’re being forced to leave the profession they love because they simply can’t afford to live anymore. Let that sink in. This isn’t just bad policy. This is morally wrong. Property taxes punish people not based on what they earn, but on what they own… often something they’ve already paid for, sacrificed for, and worked their entire lives to secure. Your home should be your sanctuary, not a perpetual bill from the government. When the government can effectively tax you out of your home… When it can force a teacher out of their calling… When it demands more while giving no regard to your ability to pay… That’s not just inefficient. That’s unjust. At its core, property tax says: you never truly own your property… the government does. And that violates a basic principle of a free society and our God-given right to property. We should be rewarding hard work, stability, and homeownership… not penalizing it. No Hoosier should have to choose between staying in their home and staying in their profession. This fight isn’t abstract anymore. It’s personal. It’s real. And it’s happening right now. Enough is enough! It’s time to rethink… and ultimately eliminate… a system that is pushing people out of their homes, their communities, and their callings. Keep this in mind when you go to the polls tomorrow. The State Senate had a chance to fix this last year and they wouldn’t. Vote for new state senators and then we’ll get this fixed.
