A French general just looked at Trump’s plan to build a runway inside Iran to fly out uranium under active bombing. His response: “American officials should stop snorting cocaine between meetings.” This is the same man who called joining Trump’s war “buying cheap tickets for the Titanic after it hit the iceberg.” The French are not holding back. I have no sympathy for software that is bloated and inefficient. Refactoring code, optimization, improving performance—those are some of the fun parts of coding, and your users will appreciate it!

@AngieCraigMN Your track record includes voting for ICE and Laken Riley. Hard pass.

I’ll be the Senator who’ll get things done for Minnesota – and I’ve got the track record to prove it.

@jacobdotgov No but I'd like to see more Ayo-Ant minutes, especially if Ant is actually willing to pass the ball to Ayo

I don't get the pushback. Do people not get that, we know AI often gets facts wrong, but it can also supply verifiable citations. This reminds me of the Wikipedia debate 20 year ago. No, you don't cite "ChaptGPT" any more than "Wiki." They're good tools to get to source material.
Megan McArdle@asymmetricinfo

I use AI to do research (i.e., find things to read, explain parts of academic papers I find ambiguous or confusing), transcribe interviews, generate pushback on my column thesis, suggest trims when I'm over my word count, sharpen podcast interview questions, and perform a final fact check on columns and editorials. But mostly it's compressing the ancillary tasks to the main job: reading, thinking, and writing.

@charlierybak I'm not aware of any other MLB team who is in this much debt, it seems truly nuts that this is just a Twins problem. I know they didn't lay anyone off, but these numbers just don't add up to me.

@Pwneill That $400M number has been reported elsewhere as well. A chunk of it is debt service so maybe only talking 60-80M yearly. Between operating the stadium, insurance for players, all staff, and minor league teams, doesn’t feel absurd.

@plattMSP @TCBmag @Twins Hi Adam, question I didn't see answered in your piece - of all the Pohlads you've written grotesque puff pieces for, which had the best tasting jock?

I traveled to spring training for @tcbmag to talk with Tom Pohlad about the start of a new era for @Twins. We covered all the hot buttons, but start things off with a blast from his past. tcbmag.com/tom-pohlad-on-…

@Pwneill @zacharywefel Maybe we can make a distinguishing between journalism and reporting? It's the latter we need more of. Desperately. AI can't do that.

@PeterMoskos @zacharywefel Specifically, at the point you're outsourcing coming up with counter arguments to AI and not relying on sources, in my opinion, you lose some of the inherent value in journalism. I don't care about theoretical counterpoints, I want to know what other humans have to say.

@PeterMoskos @zacharywefel I think this misses the mark. Yes, AI can be supremely helpful, but the value in journalism, or really in any media, is the human element. Just because AI or any tool is capable of performing a task doesn't inherently make it a good idea to use the tool for that purpose

With every convention, Team Craig hears from more and more folks about what matters most. Minnesotans are ready for someone to step up, make life work for the middle class and keep this seat blue.

Infinitely more time was spent by council members whining and moaning about wasting time on resolutions beyond the borders or jurisdiction of Minneapolis than the time it would've taken to simply vote against them.
