Unpopular opinion: It should be illegal to call a job “entry-level” and then ask for 3–5 years experience. That’s not entry-level, that’s recycled experience.

@RuffCrim So its "button that everyone can press and be safe" or "button that puts everyone that presses it in risk unless we're the majority"?

People really going crazy with false equivalencies on this dilemma The actual choice is “button that saves everybody” vs “button that saves me” In the original hypo, everyone starts on the tracks, it’s a choice to untie yourself or derail the train
SummoningSalt@summoningsalt

A train is coming down a track. Everyone on Earth has the choice to either tie themselves to the track, or not. If more than 50% of people choose to tie themselves to the track, the train turns around and doesn't run them over. Yes or no - do you tie yourself to the track?

@baalzamon35 People choosing blue is minimum percentile thinking im action "You can't pick the one option where death isn't an option, because what if ppl are dumb" is the same argument governments and such use to restrict rights and options because some ppl hurt themselves being stupid

The crusher is a great way of illustrating this problem. For the Red Button folks, they see this as an abstract where the crusher kills nobody until/unless they make an informed decision. Obviously, you'd get out of the way right? Hell, everyone should move, the scenario will wait long enough to get everyone out. For the Blue Button folks, they picture a helpless child or maybe even all helpless children trapped and are willing to risk their lives (on paper at least) to hold the crusher up and protect those unable or unwilling to move. Who wouldn't risk their life to save another? Or at least, WANT the courage to do so.

The whole blue and red button drama is basically this summarized If everyone clicked red, nobody would die. Those that click blue have suicidal empathy

@baalzamon35 @rowlands_laws It's how the scenario works sorry you didn't read it. If enough people selfishly abandoned their friends and family and choose themselves, not knowing what anyone else picked, and hit 50%, people die. It's actually the only way people can die!

@RealPostFolder Well for man Americans this is "Bread"(left pic), but it has lots of sugar, softeners and other chmicals in it. In Germany we call this "Toast" or "Sandwhichtoast", cuz in our eyes it isnt bread and real bread looks like this(right pic)

It's a combination of smugness and Reddit's natural tendency to parrot "facts" that they saw in another Reddit thread, which gets repeated like a game of telephone. The "American bread is legally classified as cake in Europe" comes from one of Subway's bread options having too much sugar in it to qualify as bread for tax purposes in Ireland. Through Reddit telephone, it got turned into "all American bread is actually cake"

The entire playstation 30 drm proves gamers are hypocrites. PlayStation should be treated like the Xbox one was. Playstation should be considered "the worse company ever™!" like they do with Nintendo.
