@JohnnyOstad First I was reminded of TES: Arena. Second was if I could talk to the lady instead of shooting her. Third was to check to see if the game is available to try.

@GamewithDave Motion blur, chromatic aberration, and screen shake. I used to like screen shake but the entertainment value wore off. Now I just want to see what's going on.
English

@betty_egg @GamewithDave I don't think this one is an age thing. You played a game that had a layout you like and now it's your preferred setup.

One thing I've noticed as I age - I'm a big fan of remapping buttons. Everything feels better when everything feels the same as the last thing. I basically model most of my controls for most of my games after Last of Us (translation: I really need my sprint button to be L1 instead of L3 and I highly recommend everyone do the same)..

@MmisterNobody It's because they're blind, don't think for themselves, and have no backbone.

It’s wild that we’re all just pretending life is normal.
We know 9/11 was orchestrated.
We know human cloning and aliens are real.
We literally have global leaders acting as a traff*king ring, trading b**ies, and drinking their blood to stay young.
Yet people will march for every single cause under the sun except the one that actually matters.

@SandyofCthulhu Reading it as a kid, before the Jackson movies were out, it felt off. It's an unnecessary section. I think it was a good idea to leave him out.

Tom Bombadil stops the story cold. We are in an exciting cross-country trip as the hobbits pick their way through a creepy haunted forest to avoid the sinister Black Riders. A terrifying black huorn ensnares them. Poof! Here comes Tom deus-ex-machina Bombadil to save the hobbits from a threat which Tolkien seems to have created to give him an excuse to insert Bombadil.
Then, just as the story starts to move again, Tom shows up a SECOND time as a deus-ex-machina to rescue the hobbits from the barrow wight. Ugh. Again stopping the story cold.
What is Bombadil's function? He doesn't represent the Old Good Ways which the fellowship must save. Bombadil isn't threatened - he's a cheesy distraction.
I'm not saying it's impossible to convince me that Bombadil is a Good Thing, but such a convincing would be an uphill battle, and I view Tom as one of Tolkien's missteps. I am happy Jackson left him out of the film, because it would have stopped the movie's flow too.

@CuriosityonX That's disappointing. It's not the cannabis, they were always that bad.
English

I enjoy this as well and it's okay to view them that way. They just focus on the games that appeal to them like everyone else does. What I don't understand is why people think they need to say "it's okay to play games my way." It's like people are seeking validation for playing a game the way they want to.

@Templarpilled >Told about God as a kid
>ask questions and receive non-answers or told to just have faith
>Read and think things over
>Witness hypocrisy of believers
> Continue reading and thinking into adulthood
>decide agnostic is the way to go

@forallcurious Irrelevant. It doesn't matter why the universe is here. What matters is that it is here. If it's "turned off" we would never know anyway.
