As a Japanese person, one thing that still messes with my head in America is how “How are you?” is basically just a greeting. Back home, if someone asks “genki desu ka?”, you’re expected to give a real answer. So when Americans say it to me, I always freeze for half a second thinking “Wait… how much of my life story do they actually want right now?” 😂 Do you guys genuinely not care, or is it just polite code?

@pirooooon3 @KnifeTruth Yes, nearly every weapon in history started off as a tool for farming. Do not get confused though, a weapon, in any form, is still just a tool. The one who uses it is the one who decides if it is for good or evil purposes.

@japan_nobunaga Just because you don't see them, doesn't mean they aren't there. Nearly every state has concealed carry and many do not require a permit to do so. Our 2nd amendment works best when you are unsure who has one and who doesn't. An armed society is a polite society.

I tried to use Calendar on my PC for the first time in forever. It starts Outlook and wants me to sign in. I don't use Outlook. I just wanted to use a calendar. Why do I need to sign in to use something I could just hang on a wall?

@Fat_Electrician Most of is for the simple fact of we don't want our utilities to skyrocket. Not really opposed to them and think, like you alluded to, it is a great driver for advancement and implementation of newer nuclear energy sites.

I’ve looked into this very minimally, so I’m genuinely asking. Why are people opposing data centers so hard? My gut feeling is it’s hippies opposing nuclear power 2.0, but I’m willing to be convinced otherwise.
