Today marks one year since the start of the Birmingham bin strike. Residents and businesses are STILL paying the price for a Labour-run council that can’t deliver the most basic services. Birmingham deserves better. On May 7th, back a Conservative council led by Bobby Alden to get Birmingham working again.
Today’s @ONS data shows £140bn borrowed this year alone - record borrowing, outside the pandemic for the second year in a row. Only the @Conservatives have a credible plan to grip the benefits bill, reduce taxes and get borrowing down.
MHCLG are hiring a new Business Rates Tax adviser, but I think the horse has very much bolted. Apparently its "an exciting time to join the team"... Maybe this time they could hire someone who understands the devastating impact of raising rates by 74% on average for pubs.
