Everyone has advice for parents heading into tryout season… so here’s mine for Coaches. Don’t take a player just b/c you want to “give her a chance” if you already know she’s not the right fit for your roster. We’ve all heard, “She understands her role,” or “She’ll work hard to prove she belongs.” While those things may be true, placing a player in a situation where she’s unlikely to succeed often creates frustration for everyone involved; the player, the parents, and the team. Instead, help her find a team that matches her current skill level, gives her meaningful opportunities to develop, and sets her up for success. The right fit benefits everyone.

My team and I had a blast in Colorado this week! Lots of 💣 hit and lots of competitive pitching, doing hard work to keep the ball within the yard! IYKYK. My pitching was cut short due to a ball to the head while pitching - but here are some highlights from pool play before my injury. Not the outcome we were looking for today, but we battled and finished 1-1. Bracket play starts tomorrow, and we’re ready to get after it.
