The School has achieved triple accreditation status, an accolade which has put it in the top 1% of business schools in the world. Queen’s is only the fifth institution on the island of Ireland to achieve the prestigious triple accreditation status, which includes the recently awarded Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business @AACSB accreditation, and the existing #EQUIS and @Assoc_of_MBAs accreditations. What is a University Senate and how can I get involved? As our governing body, the Senate plays an important role in shaping the future of the University. It oversees major decisions and ensures high standards in all areas of university life. The Senate is recruiting for two new members to the roles of University Pro-Chancellor and Lay Member. Pro-Chancellors help guide the University’s direction, support #Governance, and promote Queen’s globally as key ambassadors. This was the message to young people today as our Chancellor Emeritus spoke at a special event aimed at inspiring the next generation of #PeaceBuilders. He was joined by over 600 young people and #Political leaders who offered a range of inspiring ideas and perspectives, with a focus on the issues that matter most to young people today. During the event, a panel of young people, including both school pupils and @QUBStudents, discussed how they can use their voices to shape change with key themes, including the importance of #Education, the role of #WomenInPolitics and #Inclusivity in politics. “Since 1845, our university has held the belief that political engagement is not confined to #Parliaments and #Policy rooms, but embedded in our #Communities, our #Cultures, and #TheArts. @politicsinacti1 and @narrative4 are two organisations that share that view. “It was a delight to partner with them for this visit so that the young minds of today could hear first-hand from Senator Mitchell of the power of engaging in the democratic process, not as passive observers, but as active participants shaping the future.” (Professor Sir Ian Greer, @QUBVChancellor). This week we are celebrating all things @QUBKTP – as the #GraduateEmployment partnership programme officially marks having generated over £50 million for the #NorthernIreland economy and creating over 500 jobs. The #KnowledgeTransferPartnership (KTP) scheme is a three-way arrangement between #Universities, #Graduates and #Businesses, that Queen’s has participated in for 30 years. KTPs work by partnering a #Business with a qualified #Graduate or #Postgraduate, who is recruited into the partnership and works full time for the company. We currently have around 30 active partnerships with businesses across Northern Ireland, with our KTP associates making a significant impact in areas such as #Sustainability and #Health. And over those 30 years, we’ve won 25 national #KTP awards and participated in more partnerships than any other university in the UK.
