Nederlands

@subliemeschone Moreira is multifunctioneel.

🚨❌ OFFICIAL: Mika Godts has NOT been called up for the Belgian national team for the upcoming FIFA World Cup. #Ajax @RoyalBelgianFA
Nederlands

#GirodItalia #Giro 🚨 BIG GIRO PREVIEW 🇮🇹 - Part I
the course + most likely scenario and winners
Stage 1: Nessebar - Burgas (147 km)
Sprint.
Stage 2: Burgas - Veliko Tarnovo (221 km)
This Giro is made for fast sprinting, non GC, climbers or good climbing puncheurs. This is their first chance. GC guys will be in the mix too but might be more conservative. 13 km for the finish there's a hard climb 2km at 9.3% and the finish is 1 km at 5.4%. Too hard for the sprinters. First chance of many for the likes of Ciccone, van Eetvelt, Zana, Scaroni and Christen.
Stage 3: Plovdiv - Sofia (175km)
The climb in the middle of the stage is too far out to worry most of the sprinters. Sprint it is.
Stage 4: Catanzaro - Cosenza (138km)
Back in Italy. Unlike stage 3, this climb is closer to the finish and harder. No sprint. So break away from the start or forming on the climb. We could see (again) a change in the maglia rosa. This is a massive chance for a lot of non GC climbers in the peloton. Look at the names on stage 2.
Stage 5: Praia a Mare - Potenza (203km)
Perfect fot the breakaway with an opening climb. Later on in the stage - 50 km before the finish - there's a very hard climb. Even there a break could be formed with non GC climbers. This one is for the purer climbers, whereas stage 4 have more contenders. Again riders like Ciccone, Fortunato, v Eetvelt, Scaroni and the UAE boys Soler/Vine will lick their lips.
Stage 6: Paestum - Napoli (141km)
Sprint.
Stage 7: Formia › Blockhaus (244km)
Mamma mia. Longest stage of the race with the brutal Blockhaus to finish. Vingegaard - GC riders - alert!
Stage 8: Chieti - Fermo (156km)
Tappa dei Muri. Explosive! See a mix of puncheurs, late attacks and maybe even GC action. Too hard for the sprinters. Hard to predict this one, nice to watch. Would have been a tailor made MVDP stage..same names as stages 2, 4 and 5.
Stage 9: Cervia - Corno alle Scale (184km)
Last stage before the rest day. Unipuerto. All flat untill the final climb. Perfect to control for Visma untill the hard last 3km averaging 10% with a 1 km section at 12,5%. Jonas part II?
Stage 10: Viareggio - Massa (42km)
TT> Pippo Ganna day. Vine will like it too. Perfect for Vingegaard as well, to extend his lead and basically secure the pink jersey. He is by far the best timetriallist of the GC riders.
Stage 11: Porcari - Chiavari (195km)
This is a tricky, medium mountain stage that could see GC action. But as probably Vingegaard is firmly in the pink with already 1 or 2 stage wins, I think its a good chance for the break away. You need to be a very strong climber. Ciccone, Fortunato, Vine, v Eetvelt, Scaroni..
Stage 12: Imperia - Novi Ligure (175km)
Break away stage - also for the more rouleurs/classic types in the peloton. Liek Stuyven. Uncontrollable for the sprinter teams in my view.
Stage 13: Alessandria - Verbania (189km)
Sprint stage? Oh wait, no. All flat untill a very hard final. Break away stage and again a really nice finish for explosive - on GC - climbers.
Stage 14: Aosta › Pila (133km)
Short and very hard stage. But the final climb is not super hard, so again a good day for the break and a big day for the KoM hunters: hello Ciccone!
Stage 15: Voghera - Milano (157km)
Sprint.
Stage 16: Bellinzona - Carì (113km)
Short stage, relatively easy to control, hard final climb. If Visma and Jonas are up for it, its's a nice one to go for the stage win. I would say GC day. If not, again a good one for the break. We have to wait and see how GC standings are at the moment.
Stage 17: Cassano d'Adda - Andalo (202km)
Easy break away stage. Rouleurs/classic riders in the mix too.
Stage 18: Fai della Paganella - Pieve di Soligo (171km)
Sprint stage? Oh wait, no. The organisers really cant give the strong pure sprinters a break.. most of the day is flat until 12 km before the finish there is the Muro di Ca’ del Poggio, 1,1 km at 12,3%. Again a nice stage for the break.
Stage 19: Feltre - Alleghe (151km)
Queen stage - part I. Fight for the KoM and depending on the GC some teams will try an all or nothing for podium (Ineos Im looking at you). Jonas and Visma with the cherry on the cake?
Stage 20: Gemona del Friuli - Piancavallo (200km)
Queen stage - part I. Fight for the KoM and depending on the GC some teams will try an all or nothing for podium (Ineos I'm looking at you). Jonas and Visma with the cherry on the cake?
Stage 21: Rome - Rome (131km)
Sprint.
English

@NairoInGreen It feels like a general trend in the classics: There's 1-5 stars doing their thing up front, and then there's 10-30 riders behind that fighting for a top-5/top-10 in a group sprint. Do none of the 'subtoppers' want to attack anymore?
English

Nederlands

That was one of the CRAZIEST things I have ever done. 😱
Thank you so much to everyone who came out to Hofstade for the #Turbocross, and everyone who watched the livestream.
Your screams pushed me forward. 🙏
Thanks @AverageRob & Arno for this madness. 🫶
