Education does not make you smarter, it does not change your IQ. It only gives you more information which can make you more informed, more capable of critical thinking and analysis. If the information you learn is bullshit like gender studies, then college is giving you bad information, which actually makes you less informed, weakens your critical thinking and analytical skills.
