@DFv5v7xbqf9h I was previously in a demcent party which did not have the same sort of ideological conflict happening inside it. At least not in an organized way. Being part of an ideological struggle is actually pretty invigorating.

This morning in Biddeford, Maine, a 26-year-old man said goodbye to his wife and daughter and left for work. Moments later he was dead, shot in the head by ICE agents, the second man ICE has killed in six days.
ICE is killing our neighbors. ICE cannot be reformed. Abolish ICE.

Also “quiet quitting” over AOC or whatever other bourgeois politician is genuinely hilarious. Are we a bunch of babies? I’m not quitting this shit either way. This is not a game or a hobby for me, this is a life and death struggle against a system that is destroying the world.

The idea of "quiet quitting" the socialist movement. This rule or ruin shit is a genuine poison to our movement and its seeming more and more like we need to have a cultural revolution in the org in which we invite folks to truly examine if they're trying to get free or not

DSA is an org made up of volunteers. They are not paid. I'm 100% fine losing a vote to other volunteer organizers. I am not fine losing it to paper members who have never showed up for literally anything ever, but who demand my volunteer labor reflect their will.

@SpengieG Probably because Ive been in a socialist organization with a membership activity requirement and the fact that DSA doesn't have one at all is totally bizarre to me. It's one of the most American things I can think of to pay dues & call yourself a socialist but actually do nothing

@Qlanth I mean a lot of extremely active volunteers don't have this weird hostility to paper members. Probably because elitism is the antithesis of our movement
