After @capcutapp , @Vimeo just launched an AI-video recaps feature. All the major video edition players are jumping on AI-powered content repurposing - and long-to-short is the new must have feature. For them, it all boils down to a make or buy decision. Some try to build it themselves to get maximum control 👀 but this ends up taking month of costly data & engineering work to reach average accuracy with high unpredictable LLMs costs (not even mentioning maintenance/optimization costs in the long run). Others rely on our key-in-hand video clipping API 🔑 the integration takes two weeks tops, they get high accuracy (our models have been fine tuned on 400,000s hours of clipped content for over 3 years) for a transparent fee that includes optimization & maintenance. Make or buy is always a though decision and of course we’re biased here 😅 but we do think trying to build your own feature on ChatGPT seems like a cool R&D project but always gets trickier (and costlier) than expected to get real value in the long run… Let us know what you think!

🤔 What is @QlipAI doing at a “Mobile Industry” event? We didn’t predict at all the mobile industry would be a fruitful go-to-market angle for us. But our stay in sunny Barcelona last week for the Mobile World Congress proved us wrong 🌅. We learned (what seems obvious now) that mobile players are craving for short form vertical videos because this is The way people consume content on mobile. But most players of that industry are sitting on libraries of long landscape videos... So our API to extract at scale vertical shorts from longer videos was a hit 💥

@gregisenberg Recording 30s videos from scratch can be daunting.. Have you tried extracting clips from longer videos: events, podcasts,... ?

Prediction: Instead of launching your product with a link on X, you'll do it with a 30s video And you'll love it. Why this will happen: 1. When X algo sees links, it's sad and penalizes you so you get limited impressions 2. When X algo sees a video, it's happy and promotes it so you get extra impressions MP4 is the new URL I wish it wasn't the case, I love how easy it is to create content with a keyboard But embracing change favors the bold I'm trying to get comfortable recording videos I bought a camera, and have been doubling down on YouTube (search greg isenberg on YouTube to subscribe) I'd put a link but it'd get penalized ;) Free startup idea: 30s X video ad agencies Proposed name: XP4 Kinda like MP4 but X in it... get it? Show that creators & brands will get more views than their links and they'd be willing to pay The ROI will be there. And probably could sign them for a retainer. So, I'm ditching the cold text links and warming up with 30s videos, you?
