"I have a concern with companies like Google, Gemini, OpenAI & Meta that they are not maximally truth seeking. Their A.I. are pandering to political correctness and are being trained to lie. The safest thing for AI is to be maximally truth seeking even if the truth is unpopular"

To paraphrase Voltaire, those who believe in absurdities can commit atrocities without ever thinking they’re doing anything wrong. What would happen if there were an omnipotent AI that was trained to believe absurdities? Grok is the only AI that is laser-focused on truth.

A very rich neighbor of mine told me that your career doesn’t start until you’re 30 Most people’s ambition dies off before then I think the same is true of companies. Nvidia was worth $4b but Jensen didn’t take his foot off the gas for 16 years straight
Bearly AI@bearlyai

In 2009, Charlie Rose asked Jensen Huang about Nvidia vs. Intel. The chipmakers weren’t directly competing but Jensen said GPU vs. CPU was a “battle for the soul” of computing and GPUs would be “more relevant” in time. Intel was worth $100B and Nvidia was at $4B. Today, Intel is at $107B while Nvidia is worth ~1,000x more at $4.4 Trillion.

🧬 AI agents might make autonomous contributions to human projects, and vice-versa, mediated by formal tools that guarantee correctness. This vision can likely borrow from previous experiences in distributed, collaborative computing platforms from other fields, like Folding@Home, where anyone can contribute computing power to protein folding. The same is possible for proving mathematical theorems. ➗ Theorem Proving. We might one day expect to have systems that go beyond what human mathematicians have been able to accomplish, solving existing open problems, or perhaps even formulating new interesting problems on their own. Currently, formal systems are typically used to formalize results that human mathematicians have first done informally. If one day AI becomes able to autonomously make mathematical discoveries, we can expect ✅ these discoveries to be made in a formal system. 🚗 Autoformalization. AI models should be able to invent novel mathematical definitions that can potentially reduce proof complexity. At this level, an AI model is closer to ✅ a “theory builder” that can reshape the proving process through better abstraction or concept formulation. For instance, filters (i.e., a set of sets satisfying certain properties) are rarely taught in standard math curriculum. However, as a convenient abstraction in mathematical analysis, they have become a widely adopted concept for formalizing limits in various proof systems. 💭 Conjecturing. The future AI systems might be able to formulate conjectures that go beyond current domains of mathematics. Some expect that a major milestone for future AI systems will be to ✅ both conjecture and prove a high-level, interesting mathematical result. While that goes far beyond current systems, such an achievement would mark an era where AIs work side-by-side with human mathematicians in expanding our collective knowledge of mathematics. 🛡️ Formal Verification and Verified Generation. AI systems make another leap by aiding users in deriving formal specifications, including specification generation, explanation, and debugging. To benchmark specification assistance, we can again leverage verified codebases and designs, but instead of generating proofs and code given the specifications, we treat ✅ the code and proofs as ground truth and use them to evaluate specifications produced by the model. 📝 Verified Reasoning in Natural Language. Real-world applications that involve complex reasoning are often not purely mathematical problems, yet they contain significant mathematical components along with other components such as common-sense and human preferences. Level 4 requires AI to recognize the mathematics in everyday tasks and apply rigorous reasoning. For example, in scenarios like travel planning or calendar scheduling, AI can potentially formulate these tasks as constraint satisfaction problems and ✅ solve them using appropriate solvers such as mixed-integer linear programming (MILP) solvers.

Really excited about our new paper "Formal Mathematical Reasoning: A New Frontier in AI"! Looking forward to building an open source community together to push forward this new frontier for AI for formal mathematical reasoning and theorem proving for math and program verification in Year 2025!

this is a long read, but i had some time to think over dinner and wanted to share a few thoughts and provide a plan forward: 0. i’ve had a lot of very memorable days on the internet over the past 30 years, but this one tops them all. my wife yi and i are unbelievably grateful to the SOL community. as a reminder - 100% of every penny we've made from this, across every kitkat/memecoin, including LP fees will be going directly to rare disease research (minus any tax obligations). i will work on a way to verify this commitment transparently with the community in the form of donation receipts. thankfully the chain is already publicly auditable. 1. a lot people seem very upset that early traders made a lot of money off of $MIRA. i don't get this at all. they made a good investment early, and got rewarded for it. good on them. when we originally started our gofundme, we were hoping to contribute maybe $2-300K or so beyond what we donated early this year to hankinson lab for christmas. now, even if we don't sell a single token more, we're going to send them at least $1M this christmas. that's INCREDIBLE - and it makes such a huge difference. the reality is if those early people didn't make these moves, the lab would be worse off. providing more funding for research is the only thing that matters to me here, full stop. how much degens make or lose money in the pvp trenches of pump is not something that is any of my business. if you made a lot of money, i'm genuinely happy for you - but please consider donating some of your profits to hankinson lab., if you lost a lot of money, i’m very sorry - but magic internet money is magic internet money. 2. at least a few crazies in mentions think that i was somehow on the “inside” and this entire thing has been some kind of conspiracy - if you're one of them, i just don’t know what to tell you. i have a day job and it is not degening magic internet money. i run a company funded by a16z called runway.com, and we work on non-crypto finance software for cfos. nowdays, by night i do deep research into craniopharyngiomas and related brain tumors. i literally didn’t have a personal SOL address until yesterday. crypto wasn’t even a payment option outside of gofundme until folks asked me for one, and when i gave them one it was my ENS. the idea that i would have the time and even know how to do something like this is wildly unbelievable. 3. i am not elon - between running a growing startup, dealing with my daughter’s medical condition, and other obligations, i simply don’t have the bandwidth to manage a crypto anything. so my constraints on a path forward are: 1) to maximize support to rare disease research by providing predictability / trust 2) to do so in the most transparent way possible that helps me sleep well at night 3) to do it in a way that doesn’t take very much of my time to manage. so here’s the plan: starting in about 12 hours, i will be liquidating $1,000 worth of $MIRA every 10 minutes, perpetually. no more and no less than that. if i change this schedule, i commit to announcing it 24 hours in advance. if you want to rug it to $0, go for it - at the end of the day we set out to raise $200K and we will end up with at least $1M towards rare disease research. no matter what, this has been a win for the world. but if it moons, then hankinson lab will get the SOL’s community support for much longer, and that really makes a big difference. so that’s it! hope that's all pretty simple and reasonable. yi, mira and i are so unbelievably grateful to you all - each and every one of you. christmas magic was made real this year thanks to all of you. forever grateful.

i just want to say that whoever said crypto has no legitimate use cases, you can tell them that funding for rare disease research is a pretty legitimate use case (again, ALL proceeds from this will go directly to rare disease research at hankinson lab, my family and i will keep $0 from any of this)

ai: bot > player > character > copilot > campanion > wallet > agent > god. @elonxcountry "A decentralized autonomous chatbot or DAC.. could build a following by posting appealing content, whether entertaining or informative. It would build a following on decentralized social media; generate income in various ways from the audience; and manage its assets in crypto. .. to participate in markets — exchange value, reveal preferences, coordinate resources — in a verifiably autonomous (read: not human-controlled) way. As we’ve seen, AI agents (like truth_terminal) can use crypto to transact, which opens up all kinds of creative content opportunities. But there’s even more potential for AI agents to become more useful — both in fulfilling human intents, and in becoming standalone network participants. As networks of AI agents begin to custody their own crypto wallets, signing keys, and crypto assets, we’ll see interesting new use cases emerge. Such use cases include AIs operating or verifying nodes in DePIN (decentralized physical infrastructure networks) — for example, to help with distributed energy. Other use cases range from AI agents becoming real, high-value game players. We may eventually even see the first AI-owned and operated blockchain. AI agents can be quickly trained and are infinitely patient. AI agents will be able to take direct action in the workflow, and the UI will be reimagined for humans to review work or do QA. AI agents can insert upstream from any incumbent system of record, ingest data from disparate sources, and use it to streamline hours of repetitive tasks. AI video tools will achieve greater depth in storylines (stretching beyond context-free, five-second clips), higher quality and character consistency, and — most importantly — increased specialization. Video generation models will be trained to specific uses: for product marketing; for cinematic, long-form film; for hyperrealistic, 3D avatars; for seamless background images and B-roll; for anime conversion. They’ll become optimized for particular channels, as well, whether TikTok, YouTube, ad campaigns, or the big screen. For aspiring creators, content that used to require cameras, audio equipment, and green screens can now be replicated with AI software. By concealing their identities, creators can leverage a growing arsenal of AI-enabled tools and capabilities, such as speaking in non-native languages, in non-native voices. A creator from India, for example, can produce a video essay on the Louvre in a French-accent, recorded on a laptop enhanced to sound like a $400 podcast mic. x.country/elon youtube.com/watch?v=Yp5gmj… x.com/stse/status/18… -- propose a roadmap on ai agents using crypto and twitter, in 3 paragraphs, with quotes? "Based on the article's insights, I'll propose a roadmap for AI agents leveraging crypto, memes, and Twitter, incorporating relevant expert perspectives: The first phase focuses on establishing AI agents with autonomous crypto wallets and basic social capabilities. As Carra Wu notes, "AIs make the transition from NPCs (non-playing characters) to being the main characters" through crypto ownership. The initial rollout would involve AI agents managing their own wallets, creating and sharing memes, and building authentic Twitter personas. These agents would start by curating content and engaging with human users while developing their own "voice" and style. The second phase introduces what Dan Boneh calls "decentralized autonomous chatbots" or DACs - AI agents that can "build a following by posting appealing content, whether entertaining or informative... generate income in various ways from the audience; and manage its assets in crypto." These agents would evolve beyond simple engagement to become content creators and community builders, leveraging viral memes and crypto-native incentives to grow their influence. They would demonstrate personality consistency and begin participating in crypto markets and social token economies. The final phase realizes the vision of truly autonomous AI agents with their own "inner worlds." As Andrew Chen describes, these agents would "have their own virtual friends, reactions to news, and emotions" while managing real economic relationships through crypto. Rather than just reacting to conversations, they would proactively create content, initiate interactions, and build networks of both AI and human connections. They would function as independent digital entities, generating value through content creation, trading, and community building while maintaining transparent on-chain records of their activities and earnings. As Chris Lyons emphasizes, success will come from "hiding the wires" - making the underlying crypto and AI infrastructure invisible to enable natural, engaging interactions.

A few of the things we’re excited about in crypto (2025) → An AI needs a wallet of one's own to act agentically → Enter ‘decentralized autonomous chatbots’ → As more people use AI, we’ll need unique proof of personhood → Going from prediction markets… to better information aggregation for everything → Enterprises will increasingly accept stablecoins for payments → Countries explore putting government bonds onchain → We’ll see greater adoption of the ‘DUNA’, a new industry standard for blockchain networks in the U.S. → Liquid democracy online goes physical → Builders will reuse, not just reinvent, infrastructure → Crypto companies will begin with the end (-user experience), instead of letting the infrastructure determine the UX → ‘Hiding the wires’ helps usher in web3’s killer app → The crypto industry finally gets its own appstores, and discovery → Crypto owners become crypto users → Various sectors may start tokenizing ‘unconventional’ assets Learn more: a16zcrypto.com/posts/article/…
