I gave WIRED the exclusive on our hands launch, and they wrote a really weird article about how we are sexualizing robotics… wired.com/story/the-1x-n… I felt pretty betrayed because that’s not what they told me they were writing about not is that what I’ve ever been about… actually I stand for quite the opposite… But I’ve come to find a lot of dishonesty and malice in the journalism community so I wasn’t surprised. This is what I sent the author… I’m only sharing this because I hope it encourages journalists to resist the click bait trap and tell truly awesome stories because I for one don’t believe journalism is dead— I think it’s just starting and just needs to evolve past the weird corner of the internet where data driven optimization turns everything into smooth brained shocking brain rot bullshit. The technological revolution we are going through should inspire a journalism renaissance. Not let it fall into further decay. There is so much brilliance at play in the world and the stories should be told! out of all the 5.6 benchmarks, this one floored me the most: for knowledge work, 5.6 luna outperforms 5.5 @ xhigh for 10% of the cost insane.

codex team, understanding state on long running goals is really hard: i don’t know what’s going on, and it’s slow to read jumbled CoT summaries. instead, why not have a constantly updated “summary doc” that lists what’s happened, past issues, current workflow, etc for a goal

i had a different experience. fable is a f1 car, 5.6 sol @ ultra is a tesla model x plaid. does it find things that fable misses during planning and coding? yes, most of the time. but - for the hardest of problems, does fable routinely find things that 5.6 doesn't? also yes, some of the time. is 5.6 way faster and affordable? yes. with an unlimited token budget, what am i currently using 95+% of the time? gpt 5.6

From my personal experience: If 5.6 Sol is a cucumber, Fable is a 14-inch 6.9v Thrustmaster Pro 9000 with 6-axis articulation Most days 5.6 is more than enough, but sometimes you just need the full power of Fable

i've been using gpt 5.6 sol ultra as my workhorse for some time, and what i can say right now is that it's a very, very good model if they launched this as gpt 6 i don't think anybody would really question it more to say on launch day
