@HiddenYorkshire I'd like savings to be a comfort cushion. But my savings are more for a investment in my future (driving lessons, moving out fund, etc). Having to dip into that would set me back and damage any attempt at any upward mobility for myself.

@HiddenYorkshire I say this as someone who worked a zero-hour contract only 10 year ago I'm now on a very comfortable salary, with a decent amount of savings. But my job is contingent on contract extensions. I was at risk of redundancy only in December I won't be eligible for income-based UC.

> I earn way below average wage as a self-employed creative > I have to be frugal and save as much as I can if i ever want to live independently > people suggest going on Universal Credit to help me out > can't go on UC because I have too much in my savings > i'd be better off if I just wasted my money and then went on UC the government punishes you for being frugal and would prefer you to have no savings and remain dependent on the state than try to make things work but be an independent low-earner. this is the plight of the "working poor"

watching Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves and I didn't realise how CAMP it is. It's so much fun. The cast give just enough sincerity in their performances for the story to work whilst having enough self-awareness for it to feel almost like a medieval panto.

ICYMI, because you probably did, Florida just voted to spend 5 million taxpayer dollars to rename Palm Beach Airport after Trump. The kitchen table issues that matter and make life better for Floridians. Also if you missed it, Trump immediately filed to trademark the name of the airport so that he can demand royalties for its name usage. Trump not only wants his name on everything - he expects people to pay him to do it. Cause he's working for you.

@PlayStationUK If you're someone who wants a PS5 but cannot afford one brand new, there is no shame getting one second hand. You end up paying half of this for something you will actually own and can resell. This least will cost you as much as a new one, except you'll own nothing.

@MrPitbull07 These comments are funny af. Everyone is still talking about how careful they need to be around this dog at the airport. He's a military dog, obviously trained. You cant talk sense into people.

@Cornholio2025 @IanCopeland5 The rabies vaccine (alongside immunoglobulin) triggers an antibody response to allow your immune system to clear your body of the virus before it gets a chance to reach the central nervous systen and kill you There's very key differences between how vaccines and antidotes work

@Cornholio2025 @IanCopeland5 They differ on what they do. Antidotes don't cause immunity. They block a poison from working by disrupting how/if your body metabolises it A vaccine is usually an inactivated microorganism (that's basically dead) to trigger an immune response without causing an infection.

Rabies will kill you, and you don't have to be bitten to get it. 6 year old Ryker put his hand in a bucket with a bat and got a tiny scratch on his hand. His parents did not take him to be vaccinated (which is the only thing that will save you after exposure). He died 2 weeks later. Antivaxers will get you killed. If you or your children are exposed to any bite or scratch from any wild mammal, get the Rabies vaccine... Or...you...will...die. today.com/health/florida…
