Horrific scenes as gardaí swarm a tractor, attack the farmer, dragging him onto the road and arrest him. The world is watching Ireland!!!

@BligheDerek Blocking the only refinery in the country is unwise at a time when there's already a worldwide disruption in fuel supply, biting you're nose off to spite you're face. This was always going to end badly and was going to turn public opinion sour.

Minister for Justice Jim O'Callaghan says fuel protesters are being influenced by external figures, urging them to recognise the impact of their actions. He referenced Tommy Robinson as an example of those seeking to use the protests to advance their own agenda. #VMNews

Trump just posted this on his Truth Social media account. "Open the Fuckin’ Strait, you crazy bastards, or you’ll be living in Hell - JUST WATCH! Praise be to Allah."

@o_reachtaire Nonsense, they defined true youth rebellion in the 60's. Avant Garde before the Velvets, Punk before the MC5. If their output went down its only brcause the lasted into the 80's. The Small Faces were over by 68.

The actual story here is Emma Little Pengelly, representing Northern Ireland in the White House, making a positive impression and being warmly received. That’s leadership being recognised on an international stage. But the usual clickbait crowd will be all over this, wringing every last drop out of a throwaway remark like it’s some great constitutional or embarrassing moment. It’s not. If people want to get worked up over Donald Trump joking about “mergers”, they’re actually missing the point. Even he, in the same sentence, shows no real interest in it and quickly moves on. Complete nothing burger. But watch the media and others try to make it into something it isn’t.

After Trump disses Starmer, Irish leader Micheál Martin jumps in to defend Starmer and encourages Trump to get along with him. Martin then pivots to defending Ukraine -- a country Trump also dissed earlier in the event.

I don't want to overreact but we're officially finished as a people and a sovereign State. A) it's not even the Cranberries best song (that would be Linger) B) it has arguably the worst lyrics ever written. Anywhere. By anyone. Ever. C) well, it's just really, really shit.
Today FM 💛@TodayFM

The greatest Irish song 💛 Zombie by The Cranberries takes the #1 spot in Today FM’s 100 Greatest Irish Songs 🇮🇪 A song that defined a generation and still hits just as hard today. #100GreatestIrishSongs #TheCranberries #IrishMusic #Zombie

@bfchild66 @GBNEWS I couldn't give a toss if I was called Paddy or Mick by an Englishman, but if he called me potato, I would be the one being brought to court. A million dead and another million scattered around the world because of the "potato". Its like calling a Jew Hitler.

Belfast Child - John Chambers
Utter madness. When I first moved to London I was call much worse than that , often banter between work colleagues and it rolled right over my head. At times I actually faced abuse and was called an Irish bast**d among other insults. It rolled right over my head. Other times folk heard my Belfast accent & wrongly assumed I was a Provie ( IRA terrorist ) which use to really piss me off & I wasnt long putting them straight. Having said all that I embraced and assimilated with the Irish community in London & often went to Kilburn & the Archway Irish discos & raves. Got a little hairy a few times when I refused to stand for the Irish national anthem & republican choons , but I talked my way out of trouble and met & had lots of fun with a few Irish girls who found me acceptable 😜
