@AskFrontier FYI there was never resolution. I was made to pay $10.66 or get sent to collections. Again I never had the service. This is just extortion. The person assigned who said they’d help until resolution basically said I “agreed” to the $10 so the case closed.

It is very real and very important and absolutely not talked about. I never heard that term once in 6 years of residency despite it affecting *hundreds* of my patients

@ESL_fairy Wish someone in any of the schools in various states east and west I grew up in would’ve done this for me. Even today, as a physician, I find most don’t care to even try and get my name correct or even ask. Pronunciation changes everything for that person being misidentified

I reassured a parent yesterday that school staff could, indeed, learn to pronounce her daughter’s name. I wrote it out phonetically and made teachers a video with the name pronunciation so they can hear it as many times as needed. Names matter.

@LJTafeMD Try cocky, rude, intimidating, scary. All while being quiet. Introversion as a minority carries a burden of judgement and bias that doesn’t improve with any degrees you attain.

My introversion had been misinterpreted and misperceived as many things; like being disinterested, conceited, unapproachable, uncaring, too busy, depressed, bored, disengaged… and one of my least favorites - shy. I’m sure other introverts have experienced similar?
