@unknownJungl @MiiaTzu As far as I've seen, many people assume that environmental ideology is exclusive to left leaning politics, but honestly I've seen people of all walks of life value nature. You could look at farmers for example who I think lean conservative, and they're distrustful of corporations

This is why it's so easy for me to disregard people, disregard canon, and enjoy Sonic for the reasons I began to like the series in the first place. There are some people I like talking to and sharing ideas with, but I typically stay the hell away from popular discourse.

Reminder. Not all Sonic fans but seriously. Sonic fans are insufferable these days. There’s plenty of good people out there but most of the fandom makes it super hard to want to do fun things for it… Sonic is just suppose to be about fun and adventures and freedom but if you don’t like Sonic the way I tell you to like Sonic then you are a fuckin toxic phobe if some sort. The community is full of toxic people and it makes you not proud to be part of it.

@unknownJungl @MiiaTzu My point isn't that an environmental message isn't an underlying theme, and I may have misunderstood where you were coming from. It's that I've seen it applied as a message that's exclusive to one political spectrum so much, that I may have assumed you were implying that too.

@BertWallystuff It wouldn't be that hard to do, because it's more about just being consistent. Like the JP portrayals haven't changed much in 20 years, and they could use it as a basis to have them interact more. It really is a shame.

@BertWallystuff It's complicated because they don't really set a lot of friendships and relationships up for success. We need more time with these characters just existing together to really sell the themes of friendships and loyalty in the franchise, and Sega falls short of that sadly...😓

Absolutely! It's honestly foresight and planning like this that make certain ships better! Everyone loves the kissing and romantic portrayals, but when you add plot, characterization, and lore, it truly enhances the appeal of relationships! More people should think about this!
